I was hoping we might be able to compete in women's basketball, but after looking at that article...nope.

Keep in mind that the vast majority of the NIL money the Cavinder Twins get was generated due to social media presence that began even before they were college athletes. They were among the highest grossing WBB players even before they transferred from Fresno State to U of Miami. They are the poster children of the argument in favor of NIL - the ability to leverage fame to create income.
It’s the ones who get NIL that is dependent on what school they go to that causes issues.

From The Athletic: (paywall - https://theathletic.com/4381880/2023...token=11918618)
A federal antitrust lawsuit filed against the NCAA and the Power 5 conferences on Tuesday [ April 4 ] seeks retroactive damages for thousands of current and former athletes who believe they are entitled to back pay from schools that currently offer payments as a result of the 2021 Supreme Court ruling in Alston v. NCAA.
“In Alston, the Supreme Court by a 9-0 decision held that the NCAA rules, which prohibited schools from offering academic awards of up to $5,980 a year, were illegal — and that decision is final and can’t be contested by the NCAA,”
Let's start a new thread covering how money changes college sports. Now seeking thread-name suggestions ... ? "Varsity Greed"? "Money Corrupts"? "

As we consider the resources of the P5, it is certainly evolving into a David vs Goliath.....Or we could consider it a case of "Insider Trading" by your local NIL chapter. The basketball mid-majors may be headed to the same corridor as the FCS for football. The P5/P6 will be the feeder program for NBA/WNBA even though the WNBA will need to get their own NIL to compete with the colleges.Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans.
