After getting over the disappointment of yesterday's game , here's hoping the jacks make the most out of the rest of the season, whatever that may be.

yes mr hare i agree with you. they might have more korngables in the pipeline. but there is no apparent seekamp or duffy or sjerven or lamb. if you take sjerven and lamb off this years team. they are very very similar to umkc with alnatas and mcdavid. if they play ten games it is close to 50/50

obviously they had those two this year and i am not trying to say anything about this year

but they do not have the replacement for either ONE of those two let alone both, unless somebody there takes a very surprising jump or they have a much better recruit than we know about

Again i FULLY expect them to be very good and if i have to bet today i say they are the very solid number 2 next year!! but as i said, they have some big shoes to fill and questions to answer.

and the wild card is what if DP goes

They have 3 really good players coming back, so thats easily good enough to be 2nd in the summit regardless who else they have or recruit. Only Alnatas and Moore from ORU I thought were anygood in the league this year that even compare to the level of quality that SDSU and usd have. No other teams have the talent, and the athleticism to compete with SDSU and USD so they will be in the mix for 2nd place just for the fact the 3 they have for sure are atheltic and talented enough. .

yes yesterday was a big bummer!!! but honestly that is one of the best teams usd has ever had and my guess is it is one of the best they EVER WILL have

and we were playing without one stud and as good as Myah has looked i do not think she is 100%. and they absolutely were shoving her every second yesterday

you know she was 0 for 10, but last night baylor actually missed more shots. he was 4 for 15. the difference was baylor had three role players score in double figures to take the heat and pressure off him and give him some time and space to make some plays

myah still had ten boards yesterday and still had 4 assists. as i said if we shoot even 40% within 5 feet of the hoop, which is still terrible, we probably win. and if we shoot better in there myah has probably close to 10 assists

even less than 100% she is still very very good and i REALLY hope this team goes to the NIT. i would prefer that i think to the NCAA at this point. they would get to host multiple games and potentially do very well!!!

but i am betting whoever we play the rest of the way will not be familiar with us as usd is and they will not guard myah the same way

Krull and Watson are regarded as two of the highest quality recruits they have ever had. of course that whole ranking thing is kind of a joke. neither macy miller or the duffy girl who graduated for them a couple years ago were highly regarded in the rankings so you have to take those with a grain of salt

they have some well regarded recruits coming and DP has shown that she can go into the transfer world and find a difference maker.

that said, except for the first time ( and i cannot remember for sure if we were totally healthy or not ) every other time they have won the SLT we have had a first team all conference type of player at least playing hurt and often OUT

two years ago, the year the NCAA was cancelled, they had what they say was the best team they have ever had and we had Kallie who was our number one recruit for that year OUT and we had Myah OUT. that game came down to us missing a 3 in the final minute that would have tied or taken the lead.

last year we had Myah POY OUT and tori playing on one leg

this year i know Paige was 2nd team but she was EASILY as good as most of the players on first team and many media people had her in the argument for POY. and the game was a 4 or 6 point game for most of the 4th quarter

AGAIN, usd has a truly EXCELLENT team!!! i believe that hannah and chloe deserve to go down as two of the greatest players in the history of the conference!!! they easily have to be in usd all time top 5 players and korngable is not quite to that level but she has been a very very good player!! i give them my sincere congratulations!!!

i also do not want us to assume the worst about the future of their program because i think we are better off if we expect them to be good and as i said before it is probably better for us at this point if they remain VERY GOOD

but if any usd fan beleives that they have passed us by and become the top program in the summit they are not being rational or honest with themselves. they have never beaten a fully healthy jacks team in the tournament or maybe not since the first time. and the future for the rabbits looks like AJ has every intention of making this program into one that consistently plans to win MORE THAN ONE game in the ncaa.

we really get EVERY significant player except Tylee back next year and we have four recruits coming in who all appear like they could contribute and one or two could be game changers. and we have that same type of recruiting class coming in for several years

usd BTW has yet to win even a single game in the ncaa, i think this could be the year but it still depends on the matchup and i would definitely NOT make any assumptions
I harp on the fact that USD has never won an NCAA tournament game, but only to try and quell (sp?) some of that annoying chest thumping they do ad nauseam , there's school spirit I know, but they go ridiculously overboard with it. The fact is, I hope they finally get an NCAA Tournament win this year, it's good for all of us if they do. If not this year, then when? That's the question to be answered.

i agree. i have said i fully expect them to be very good. and i am also not positive that they will not be MUCH better than many people expect!! but barring some surprises, i think the gap between the usd girls and the jacks will be bigger than it has been for a long time

and the gap between them and the other teams will be smaller

but i definitely also agree that none of the other conference teams are obviously ready to move up

WELL haha i am definitely NOT HOPING for them to win. i do not think i can imagine ANY scenario where i am EVER hoping for a usd team to win. but it they win this year, at least i would say i am happy for chloe. and again i expect they will be just fine and continue to be GREAT competition for us and one of the best WBB programs in the midwest at any level, just like we are!

but you are correct it does appear that if they do not get that ncaa win this year the next apparent opportunity is not readily in sight

as far as their fans, hahah, as far as i am concerned, they are and always have been among the very worst

Well, I think used has two good players in Krull and Larkins. You can’t sell me on Watson. In the games I’ve watched her I think I could shoot it as effectively as her. Like another poster said, if you have 3 better options on offense it can make it easier for the 4th &5th to capitalize. The same can be said for having Hannah behind you in the paint. It’s easier to take chances with her behind you. The rest of the team is meh.

if i am ranking in order they have Krull, Larkins, Watson the top 3

they also have Morgan Hansen who was hurt this year who was a semi big recruit

Ugofsky or however you spell it from harrisburg

you have guebert who it seems obvious is not overly special, but she might not be a lot worse than a greer type player

and they have the post who got hurt at the end of the year and they have peplowski

that give them 8. NONE of those are replacing sjerven or lamb!! but maybe one of the first 3 or 4 listed could be a korngable

so they do not have great top of the conference first team all conference type players returning, but those 8 are probably better than any team in the conference, NOT NAMED SDSU, from what we can see today

i think that there are one or two others on the roster who are supposed to have some potential

if they go out and grab a transfer who is like their version of Doug Wilson or something they could be pretty tough!! AGAIN WOW i hope the female version of doug wilson does NOT end up there!!!!!

I don't think anyone expects them to "suck"! LOL. What I am expecting is that without a stud transfer they will drop 2-3 road games, maybe one at home (Jacks). But they will still be top tier in the SL.

I was following your thread here and i have to agree you will be overwhelming pick to win the conference next year with the team you have returning. The thought process here for UND is were hoping we can move to the second or third seed in conference next year. This is based on Junior class this year and new recruits we have coming in next year. We have on paper and reports very good class coming in with two four star recruits and two other very promising recruits to make some impact. We also are hoping this year freshman class starts stepping to fill in some rolls on this team. If this can be accomplished getting say 2 place team conference anything can happen at the end of the year. The other thing of note is way UND listed their team this year we did not automatically set our players year back because of extra year like you guys did so our seniors still have year eligibility left, juniors have 2 years left and our sophomore has three years left. I don't know the reason but i suspect it has to do with roster construction and deciding if UND will exercise that extra year eligibility. That is what they did with Leet last year. I also neighboring school to be improved with another year recruiting getting players they need to make the next jump in the conference. I also see that with several other schools in Summit if they get right pieces with their returning pieces they could make a jump that may be unexpected.

We do need the Conference as a whole to get better top to bottom if we want better seeding for the NCAA Tournament for our representative/representatives, doing better, especially in the early out of conference portion of our schedules. . Glad to see you guys making good progress.

Im confused by comments from our friends down south that we are blaming the refs for our loss Tuesday. Ive read nothing from anyone that thinks the refs lost us the game. Why do they seem to spread lies. Maybe one person at the game was complaining so that means we all are one. Thats why i hate them

The couple fouls early didnt help thats for sure, but also missing 2 dozen layups didnt help our cause either. Both teams struggled, we just struggled more that game.
