congratulations to usd! i cannot stand the school and the fans are the definition of annoying!! but they have a truly excellent team with two all time great players and another really excellent one!!

i will not assume anything!!!! i mean maybe DP hits the portal and finds the next sjerven. WOWWWWW i sure hope not!!! but cannot assume!! that said we could be looking at an incredible stretch of rabbit success coming up!!

i would be almost tempted to let Paige redshirt next year and come back fully healthy. like AJP did for their men this year, instead of having her hurry back and play at less than full strength like myah did this year.

We should be the class of the conference anyway and have every opportunity to succeed OOC! we get everyone who made any significant contribution this year back except for tylee and greer. i see no problem replacing greer and timmer probably easily can assume tylee minutes. we also have 4 great looking freshman coming in and i also think maybe Vlastuin finds her game again with a little time off. and there are other talented girls on the roster who did not get much time this year who could step up and contribute going forward

i dont know and wont assume what happens with usd but the future for the rabbits looks as bright as ever!!!!!! somebody commented to me that DP had AJ number. hahahahahhhh she is going to have to prove she can do it after the big 3 are gone before that is even close to a conversation!!! AJ has been doing this for over 2 decades his place as the unquestioned best coach in the summit is beyond secure, but he is showing NO SIGNS of sitting back and resting on his past success

yep i was not attempting to say that she played perfectly today and got a bunch of bad breaks. as i said, i think the whole team except for Tylee had a pretty bad game today!! simply saying that if we could have converted some layups, she did make some nice passes and would have made her day and the team day a LOT better

again as i said, i think if we could have made even 40% of layups today we win pretty easily

Tough loss to a good team, even though I despise them. But I was reading their board and one poster mentioned that the team started a "F State" chant after the game. That post has since been taken down but there is mention of it yet. Anyone else hear anything?

As someone who was at the game I can say that the student section definitely started the chant. But I guess I don't really see the issue. College kids doing stupid college kid stuff. If as adults we can't handle that then I guess I feel we need to grow up and be a little less run by emotions. You know, be less like the USD fans...

If it was the students, by all means go ahead. It's tacky, but that's what kids do. I just was wondering if it happened to be the team or the team participated how they weren't "beat down" by the coaching staff before the first "F" was finished. That would be a baaaaaad look. IMO

I'm guessing they may find out soon enough that Karma can be a bitch. Looked up at the scoreboard at halftime of their semi-final game and the three that are leaving had 39 of their 41 points. And yesterday it was 29 of 31. And the 2 remaining starters plus Larkin are going to find out that it's a whole different world when they are no longer the 4th or 5th option and defenses can concentrate on stopping them.

Those players will be ok, and USD will continue to be the 2nd best team in the conference I think. They lose a lot, but really no one else in the brings anything to compete for that 2nd spot so it will still be USDs to hold on too.

On our way home from the games last night, we dang near got into an accident near the Madison exit when we had to swerve around Sjerven's elbow.

I can not say who started that chant but (in my option) it was not a player for USD. Their "main" players and coach talked nice and complimented SDSU after the game. I think Dawn said that SDSU is a very good team about 3 times in her press conferences. Cloe also gave SDSU a lot of props.
I'm sure (my guess) it was just some college kid that started it. When you have that many people around, somebody is bound to say (or do) something stupid.
The USD student section was chanting "We want State" on Sunday after their win. Well, they got them and after they fell way behind they were quite.
NDSU and SDSU had some fans that did things I don't agree with either. Some people were just giving crap to players on teams even when their team wasn't playing.

I was impressed with USD's players and coaches and NDSU players. I did not see if Kreuser stopped by Hendo and give him a hug when he left the game (before the game was over) but I saw Sam to that. How often do you see opposing players hug the opposite coach during the game. I know Hendo came from there but that was a class move.

Yeah anyone upset with any usd student chanting that better be upset with the sdsu students chanting what they did after ndsu last night.

Its pretty tacky but Students are gonna student I guess.

ABSOLUTELY it will be different for those players and some or all may find it harder. at the same time, some may step up and thrive when given more opportunity. Krull and Watson are regarded as two of the highest quality recruits they have ever had. of course that whole ranking thing is kind of a joke. neither macy miller or the duffy girl who graduated for them a couple years ago were highly regarded in the rankings so you have to take those with a grain of salt

they have some well regarded recruits coming and DP has shown that she can go into the transfer world and find a difference maker.

that said, except for the first time ( and i cannot remember for sure if we were totally healthy or not ) every other time they have won the SLT we have had a first team all conference type of player at least playing hurt and often OUT

two years ago, the year the NCAA was cancelled, they had what they say was the best team they have ever had and we had Kallie who was our number one recruit for that year OUT and we had Myah OUT. that game came down to us missing a 3 in the final minute that would have tied or taken the lead.

last year we had Myah POY OUT and tori playing on one leg

this year i know Paige was 2nd team but she was EASILY as good as most of the players on first team and many media people had her in the argument for POY. and the game was a 4 or 6 point game for most of the 4th quarter

AGAIN, usd has a truly EXCELLENT team!!! i believe that hannah and chloe deserve to go down as two of the greatest players in the history of the conference!!! they easily have to be in usd all time top 5 players and korngable is not quite to that level but she has been a very very good player!! i give them my sincere congratulations!!!

i also do not want us to assume the worst about the future of their program because i think we are better off if we expect them to be good and as i said before it is probably better for us at this point if they remain VERY GOOD

but if any usd fan beleives that they have passed us by and become the top program in the summit they are not being rational or honest with themselves. they have never beaten a fully healthy jacks team in the tournament or maybe not since the first time. and the future for the rabbits looks like AJ has every intention of making this program into one that consistently plans to win MORE THAN ONE game in the ncaa.

we really get EVERY significant player except Tylee back next year and we have four recruits coming in who all appear like they could contribute and one or two could be game changers. and we have that same type of recruiting class coming in for several years

usd BTW has yet to win even a single game in the ncaa, i think this could be the year but it still depends on the matchup and i would definitely NOT make any assumptions

I will agree with this. The last few years SDSU and USD were 1A and 1B. USD might lose around four games and drop to 2nd or 3rd but they will still be a top team in this conference. We need other teams to step up but that hasn't happened on a consistent basis, yet.

Either USD or SDSU has went undefeated in conference the last 3 (?) years. Normally, (which ever team it is) if they sweep the other team, you will win out in the other conference games and have an undefeated conference season. The loser of the sweep might have one or two other losses but that is it.. It looks like SDSU might be that team next year, but the USD games will be two of the three or four toughest conference games.

I think USD will tone down their preconference schedule next year. They will have a few tough games but it will not be the meat grinder schedule either USD or SDSU have had the last few years. If they do not do that, they will have a bad record before the get to conference play. Their record will swell once the get to that easy part of the schedule.

Hoyt at UMKC seems to really enjoy the challenge. she has proven that she can get impactful transfers. she will have to do that again losing Alnatas and McDavid, but Mc David was a transfer this year. it seems like UMKC could step up to be the next team

obviously NDSU seemed like maybe they were ready and got everyone back from last year. maybe they can bounce back. i know they lose at least one key player but i am not sure about the rest

ORU will have both Moore twins as sophomore next year and Scott a junior next year. if they get good guard play they could be moving up. i never heard WHY the FOY point guard from last year did not play this year. i think someone said that she is no longer on the roster now, but i think she was earlier in the year. if they had her back with all the posts, i think they could be very tough and probably the number two team next year. or at least they would give usd a run for it. but if they dont get some good guards those bigs will not be able to do it alone

i REALLY like and respect coach Gravina at WIU. it seemed like they were going to be the 3rd top team in the conference but they seem to have fallen off. i do not know why as i think he is a really good coach

saint thomas is not there yet and i am not saying i think they will or wont, but the school does seem to be committed to having a successful D1 athletic program

beyond those 5 programs, somebody else is going to have to show more than the currently do or i think they all keep fighting to be at the top of the bottom half but rarely get into the top half

Have to think DP probably looking to stay at usd with her son in school there, but obviously he will not be there forever and she might think she needs to strike while the iron is hot. i have NO IDEA if she has opportunity or offers but you would think bigger schools notice what she has done

for her part, next year will definitely be the least RETURNING talent she has ever had. maybe those there can step up and maybe she likes what they have coming in. AGAIN i have NO IDEA!!! but maybe she does what Otz did and figures she walked into a VERY GOOD situation. she made the most of it. and it is time to go

usd has been successful with 3 or 4 different coaches in a row now. so you have to figure the program would have a chance to stay pretty good!! but i think the other new coaches have come into a situation with a little more KNOWN and PROVEN talent already on the shelf. if they have to hire now it will be much more of a rebuild

ANYWAY that is and has been a lot more talk about usd than i ever want to do. and i guess i fully believe that they will remain very good!! but they do have some big shoes to fill and questions to answer. i could see them falling to 3rd in the conference next year but i also DO NOT see the program that is obviously ready to pass them!!

does NDSU get everyone back except Dietz?? if so maybe they are ready, but they also have to play a lot better than they did for most of this year

IF big IF, ORU can get guard play remotely similar to their posts maybe they are ready

i think UMKC has the right coach. but i think she will need to bring two players of similar quality to Mc David before i would assume they pass usd

Kansas City is average at best. The OOC record reflects no competition while taking an experienced group of players to an impressive W-L. They had some talent, but they were routed by Jacks and yotes at end of conference. Hoyt may be a good coach, but she is a long walk from being competitive for the #1 or #2 slot in the conference. Cussens is also constantly getting talent on campus, but she never crosses to the success of Jerry Finkbeiner. She has been at ORU as assistant and head coach 25+ years and seems secure. St Thomas may be most likely to arrive within 5 years. UND may show more soon. NDSU & Jory Collins are in the likely to show within 5 years. Anyone who believes USD & DP are doomed may be overly hopeful. There are players in the pipeline who will likely have the Jack fans talking dirty again. The first look at the current roster could find another Korngable type of player to compliment the Watson, Krull, or Larkins. It could be another shallow bench, but they did OK this year that way. How many close games did they experience this year and where is the talent around the league to displace the yotes?
