Disappointing loss, no Jackrabbit could score for nearly 10 min in the 2nd half!!! I hope we beat them up there.
North Dakota State 76, South Dakota State 67
Brookings, S.D. -- North Dakota State dominated the last 19 minutes as the Bison rallied from a double-digit deficit to defeat South Dakota State 76-67 in at Frost Arena.
SDSU built a 26-13 in the first ten minutes and led 37-31 at
halftime. The Jacks opened a 43-31 lead when Shannon Schlagel hit a pair of three-pointers in the opening minute of the second half.
Angie Froehlickh led a Bison comeback which included a 12-0 run when SDSU was held scoreless from 13:28 to 8:35. By the time Heather Sieler scored for SDSU, the Bison were ahead 57-50.
Froehlich hit 11-of-14 field goal attempts and finished with 23 points to lead the Bison while Michelle Fricke added 19 and Katie Lorenz, who was 8-for-10 at the foul line, had 12.
Shannon Schlagel had a double-double by halftime (14 pts, 10 reb.) and finished with 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Jacks.
Megan Vogel added 17 points and seven rebounds.
Turnovers were a big factor in this one. SDSU had 28 with NDSU scoring 35 points off SDSU mistakes. NDSU had 19 turnovers.
NDSU hit 14-of-22 field goal attempts in the second half, 63.6 per cent, to finish the game at 46.7 per cent (28x60). And after SDSU had a 30-15 rebounding advantage at halftime, NDSU won the battle of the boards 19-10 in the second-half.
SDSU shot just 37.9 per cent (22x58) for the game.
