Yes, that would be icing on the cake for sure.

                  • With the short roster and lack of depth , it sure would be nice to be able to move the clock ahead just a tad bit , about 335 days or so. But it's sure nice to welcome aboard our future Jacks to the team. Looking forward to when they set foot on the court wearing the blue and yellow.

                    • I’m not sure I have ever been this excited for a recruiting class. Five top notch SD kids. ESPN has Vasecka ranked as a top 60 recruit in the country. That may be our highest ever. Exciting times ahead!

It's hard not to be excited after watching these 5 during their AAU championship run last summer. All 5 are very talented, but Vasecka is really exciting. When you look at their signing day picture and see that she looks to be the tallest of the group, and combine that with her ball skills and scoring ability, she appears to be one of those rare players who could truly play all five positions.

Annnnnnd...., we'll have Timmer another yr (maybe Kallie?) plus two seasoned soph's and experienced upper class men , one a great , great PG to run the show. That looks like a whirlwind of players on the court when they all start gelling together. My, how much our situation can change in the course of just one yr by having a FULL bench instead of a depleted one of great players. Wish we could arrange for the team to go on a foreign trip to get them started early. I don't know if that's a good idea or not, maybe a foreign trip is just a big distraction as I seem to hear less of them happening, or, is it better to stay at home, any thoughts on that?

                          • NCAA proposing new college athletics subdivision rooted in direct athlete compensation

                            Link: https://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa-propos...145051537.html

Betting conference realignment now weeds out the un-willing and the under-funded - and leads to more sport-specific alliances.

GOOGLE: House vs NCAA for more $-driven legal actions/pressures on the NCAA.

The minimum of $30K/athlete would be dwarfed with the amount an Ohio State might provide. They should get Sunday TV time lined up for these teams to play opposite the NFL. The transfer portal has created free agency and the NIL has provided the pay. This is the next step where the athletes may not even need to attend the school they play.

                              • This is an attempt by NCAA to keep the top tier football programs from bolting the NCAA and forming their own league. There has been rumblings for a year or so that 9 figure dollar sums could be generated to form an independent college football league. Under NCAA rules the Alabamas, Georgias, Michigans, USCs, etc. could drop NCAA football and retain other NCAA sports. They could then form a separate football league.

This NCAA proposal would allow the new football league within the NCAA, while attempting to maintain equity for other sports at those schools. It may or may not work. One or two billion dollars goes a long way to support 30 or so college football programs.
