  • Re: USC Game

I noticed that there were a few high school girls basketball teams in attendance last night. Where I was sitting (in the top section above the Jacks bench) I heard that McCook central brought their team (with Rotert) and I also noticed several other high school letter jackets. Also, sitting around me were several fans that had said they haven't seen a game in frost before or haven't been there in a few years.

Great game for casual fans to see and very impressionable going forward in our transition to D-I 8-)

Here is a little story on the USC website about their trip to South Dakota.

I like the part where it says that we knew prior to the game that we would be in for a long, physical and adverse night.

I almost forgot about 1 new addition.  All that have attended games over the last few years have seen the Christopher Walken "I've got a fever" clip.  Now they have the clip with Jackrabbit Athletes, coaches and the President quoting the now famous line.

Last night they had some of the members of the baseball team, the volleyball team, the wrestling team, AJ and President Miller pushing for more cowbell.  It was pretty sweet.

Just a few observations on the USC game before it fades to "remember when" status:
            * Great job of cheering by Blue Hat and the rest of the students.
            * The final score made the game look deceptively close. The Jacks were in control most of the game, minus the opening couple of minutes and the last few closing minutes.
            * The Jacks played very hard and very confidently, all the time, which seemed to frustrate the talented Trojans.
            * This is a young and talented Jacks team. They will be fun to watch for years to come.
            * A great win, but not a crucial game. There will be bigger games with more at stake. I look forward to them.

Didn't anybody tell the Women of Troy that a Frost Warning had been issued. Well done, Jacks! Very exciting win.

A follow up on the game last night. There are more "MORE COWBELL" spots on their way. The students especially the ones around me were quite vocal through the whole game. This is USC's big one as they are use to playing before small crowds out there in Cali. USC did not over look us as their coach said, this team is that good. 26 games left, it's a tough schedule but the girls can do it and get us in the WNIT.

A late congratulations to you guys for his impressive win. I don't look forward to our ladies facing off with you. We certainly have a ways to go to get there.

I'm thinking that SDSU maybe deserves some votes for the top 25.
