Broman is a 6-foot-1 senior guard and scoring machine. Among the most unusual numbers:
    • He averaged more than 43 points per game last season (unofficially the highest in the nation)
    • put up 71 in a single game on the road (second-most in Minnesota prep history) by going 17 of 24 on 2s, 8 of 13 from deep and 13 of 14 from the foul line with six rebounds and nine assists
    • has more than 3,800 for his career, putting him on track to break the state record this coming season. (Here’s a game-by-game, if you are interested.)
Broman spent the summer with Howard Pulley, a renowned club in the Twin Cities, playing in the backcourt alongside Tyus Jones – a top-5 recruit in the 2014 class – and Quinton Hooker, who recently gave a verbal to North Dakota. He wound up averaging 13.4 points per game (second on the team behind Jones), while knocking down 59 3s and 73 free throws.
Broman said that he received 20 NCAA Division I scholarship offers, and visited Vermont and Yale before taking an official to SDSU over the weekend. As you might expect, the Jacks’ recent success and community support played in their favor.
Also of note: His dad, John, was a Winter Olympian in 1980 in ski jumping, and he passed up opportunities to play for larger high schools in order to stay loyal to LCA, but opted to join Pulley for one summer after previously suiting up for the Minnesota Glory.
What does he do well? Shoot and score.
“To get ready for college, I’m going to be working on my ball handling, my play-making ability,” Broman said, “and being able to defend and getting in the weight room.”
For what it’s worth, ESPN ranks him 59th nationally at shooting guard.

I'd like to retract my earlier statement about not being impressed.

I really do feel his height is being overevaluated and is the reason why he ended up at SDSU. I have heard he's 6'2'' and I hope he grows an inch or two his senior. He is essentially an inch or so shorter than Blake Hoffarber. Looking at his shot, he gets good lift on his shot, and has a good enough release point on his shot. Also, hisrelease is not overly quick but quick enough. Watching his highlight videos, I noticed he has a very good midrange game and is not just a spot up shooter which is good to see. I really hope he signs during the early signing period. Looks like another very good recruiting class

Underrated part of his verbal: the increased amount of Workaholics jokes/references we will all be able to make.

Very consistent form for someone who's what? 17 years old?

That too. I was making reference to his somewhat unique first name that he shares with a popular TV character.

Joe Aase a 6'8" PF from Austin, MN committed to Davidson. I don't know where SDSU was at with his recruitment but I'd heard his name brought up numerous times.

He's got my endorsement and he is absolutely a scoring machine! Up every morning shooting at the Y and has a tremendous work ethic. I have coached against him and he is absolutely a joy to watch. A smart defender who is not overly quick but he will make up for it with hustle and smarts. Also a great kid who will not boast about himself and will always give credit to his coaches and teammates. Top notch character and great player! I was so pumped up when I heard about this today!!!! And yes fully endorsed by the McDonald family!!!!!!!!!!!

We are going to need an ongoing thread that tracks his scoring this winter. If he has improved even a little since last year his senior season scoring is going to be stunning.

If the McDonalds family will go so far as to call the kid "all-American" -- and it sounds like he is an all-around great student-athlete -- then when he officially signs, the press release can state we landed a McDonald's All-American.

If he becomes a fan favorite, will that be "Bromance"?

Probably. Any thing to make our fandom happy. Mention of the McDonalds made me think of the first season of Jim Thorson and the game at UNO. They were trailing at half, but apparently they had a real good play for Tommy. He just shot the lights out and SDSU won. Quite a game as I recall, and if Anders is anything like Tom, we are going to be okay.
