Thanks for the welcome. Actually in this case the moniker is in reference to a basketball player (me) and his less than impressive performance in high school. I graduated in 75 and the rest unfortunately speaks for itself.

Please remember that the SDSU Elite camp or any NCAA College elite camp is not invite only. It's against NCAA Rules to limit who gets invited in fact the camp brochure is available on the SDSU website to anyone ambitious enough to want to download the information and send in a check.

That is correct, we are paying the expenses and in fact have another player from our high school who signed up and is going. Did not mean to imply we were being given any special consideration.

Yeah there are cost and anyone can go, but from talking to people who have gone to these type of camps before, you can really tell who the coaches want.

I'm sure the coaches will invite the players they want to see, but they won't turn anyone away. Why turn away money that can go to the program?

Per TV's tweet - 6'7" F Michael Hoekstra from the Peoria,IL area (Bishop MacNamara) has been at the SDSU Elite Camp,and will also visit UNO tomorrow.

Heard that a University of Arizona "scout" was in Pierre last week talking to the Hansons or at least Zach's dad.

technically if its a scout isn't it a coach of some sorts? Or can colleges have other scouts. I thought the only ones who could officially scout is the Head Coach, his assistants and the Director of Operations which is basically an assistant coach. Am I right or am I so far off that everyone and their dog will attack me for this?

"scouts" are not suppose to have an affiliation with a certain school. But there are individual private firms that scout kids and then sell the tape and benchmark measurables to programs such as the texas company that pipelines people to Chip Kelly in Oregon, in which Kelly almost got fileted by the NCAA because it was being alleged the scout was getting paid off by Oregon to push those recruits into signing with the ducks.

He says he has 2 offers, SDSU and USD, but that he might want to go out of state.

--My .02 Cents here, I watched him play a handfull of times last year and I think he would look great in an SDSU uniform. I think he might me too good for AA so we don't know how good he really is and he doesn't know how good he really is. He will blow up on the AAU circuit this year when he is facing stiffer competion. I feel he will be better vs the competition in college than he is in HS (I don't know if that really makes sense, I tried to word it as best I could).

My dream class would be Skyler Flatten, Lane Severyn, and Zach Hanson.....Highly unlikely, but it would be awesome to get a full D1 class full of legit D1 SD players. I think all three are playing on the Schoolers together this summer.

Despite him saying he may want to go out of state, I still think Severyn ends up at SDSU.
