Re: I want it so bad it hurts!

I guess we should be asking you how many games you have been to and watched. Do you not see the improvement on this years team compared to the last couple of years? This years team has had, in my opinion, a chance to compete and win most of the games this year. Can you say that from the last couple of years? There are also about 8 more games the Jacks should have won. That puts them at close to a 20 win season (20-10 if they won all those games). Would we see rabbitboy and justinthecrowd even posting....NO. And I'm sorry, Udot playing the School for the Blind, the College of Elvis, John, Kate, plus 8, and the cast from the Real World isn't a schedule to brag about. Boy they dug for some no-name schools to play. I don't care if the Summit League is down, they are still tougher competition.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

I don't know about that last statement. The tranny from the current Brooklyn Real World looks like he/she can play some D.

Re: I want it so bad it hurts!

Wow I make no posts and I still get ripped.....anyways....if Chad White and Tony Fiegen had not verballed as Sophs, yes they would have received more offers.

For those who want to fire Scott Nagy...have you considered the transition time for a new coach to take over, install their system and recruit their "athletes" is typically a 3-5 year span. Nagys team is headed in the right direction....you can't compare the women's program to the men's program for various reasons already stated on this site. How is it that Scott Nagy was an outstanding coach when they were DII but sucks now....give it up already the guy can flat out coach and the program has had a streak of issues that any coach no matter how good would have a difficult time dealing with over the course of transition years.

Funny thing, when Don Meyer took over for Bob Olson at NSU after two years many wanted him out of the program, not a good coach etc...mention that to NSU fans today that Coach Meyers sucks and should be replaced...then duck.

Congrats to the Men's team for making the tournament. The regular season record means nothing after tomorrow night and basically provides seeding for the Summit League tournament. Let's face it, only the champion of the Summit League goes dancing and the only other team with a shot at the NIT is NDSU.......so the new season begins in Sioux Falls in a few weeks. Once the tournament starts anything can happen and regular season records mean absolutely nothing.....this is the first year SDSU is eligible for the NCAA Tournament and having the Summit League tournament in Sioux Falls is a bonus.....time for fans to educate themselves on what matters and it's the post season tournament not the regular season that matters most....if SDSU wins the Summit League Tournament they go dancing...and the regular season record means absolutely nothing....time to focus on the issue at hand.....the tournament not the record! Good luck Jacks!

I read that and agree. Its been a tough transition, and Coach Nagy is anything but a quitter.

Putting everything aside, I dont see how a fragile budget that SDSU is now working with could have room to hire some one with more visibilty and experience at the D1 level should the new AD see a coaching change is needed. Also if any thinks SD would stand for some coach making a 500k or more than the president, then you dont understand how the average taxpaper in SD thinks.

The bottom line, no coaching change in men's bb anytime soon.

$500K is way over the top

Re: I want it so bad it hurts!

Cadsev makes an excellent point: Any coach tasked with a rebuilding project (and SDSU was tapped out by the time they left D-2) should get 3-5 years before people start expecting him to win consistently.

Now granted, Nagy -did- create some of his own problems through poor recruiting (yes, as I understand it, those problem players were recruited by whatsisface, who had his contract terminated, still the buck stops with Nagy and I'm sure he'd agree).

However, Nagy's put together a very talented team that just needs to figure out how to win on the road..... Postgame comments by Sargent that this team needs to 'reset'.....

This team WILL win on the road next year, and they WILL finish the season with a winning record. You can take that to the bank.

They WILL pull off at least one non-conf upset, and they will relish at least a few revenge games during the conference season.
