      Standings:
      NDSU 13-1 (SUU, SDSU, @Cent @ORU)
      ORU 10-3 (IUPUI, @SUU, @UMKC, SDSU, NDSU)
      Oakland 9-5 (@WIU, @IUPUI, SUU, UMKC)
      IUPUI 7-7 (@ORU, IPFW, Oakland, @WIU)
      SUU 6-7 (@NDSU, ORU, Cent, @Oakland, @IPFW)
      SDSU 6-8 (UMKC, @NDSU, @ORU, @Cent)
      IPFW 5-8 (@Oakland, @IUPUI, @WIU, UMKC, Cent)
      Centenary 5-8 (WIU, @UMKC, @SUU, NDSU, SDSU)
      WIU 5-9 (@Centenary, Oakland, IPFW, IUPUI)
      UMKC 2-11 (@SDSU, Centenary, ORU< @IPFW, @Oakland)

      Jacks need Saturday night and IMHO have a decent shot at two of three on road after it... Make that centenary game a shot at fourth or fifth seed.

        forgot to add that Jacks have fourth toughest schedule in summitt: Bison have third easiest one. ORU has by far the toughest schedule.

          Re: SDSU's playoff chances

          Did some rough numbers. If you give NDSU, ORU, Oakland and IUPUI wins against the deadlocked teams (big assumption) and give UMKC losses agains them, then figure out how many wins the rest need to match SDSU's record (with win Sat), since one team needs to win all the deadlock games, the rest fall into place and one is left sitting out. It's likely that one of those teams

          I'm sure that didn't make much sense, and it's not going to happen like that, but it does look like with a win tomorrow that SDSU is very likely in the tourney. Too many ways for another team to struggle and miss out.

          I'd rather see a road win, even before Centary. As someone said, it's exiting that there is actually something to play for at this point.

              Do we have the tie breaker over IUPUI? Did they beat NDSU or Oral Roberts?

                Southern Utah's victory over the Bison hurt in our hunt for the tournament. Unless I'm wrong (possible), it looks like, if we want to enter outright (not looking at head-to-head), that we will NEED to win one of the three remaining games, unless:

                1) UMKC beats Centenary, or
                2) WIU loses all three of their remaining games, or
                3) IPFW loses all four reamining games, including against UMKC

                  Hi, this has a slight error in it and it might have come off an erroneous post from me last week... sorry about that. IPFW finishes with SUU, not Centenary, and that could change the calcluation slightly.

                  Here's what I posted on game thread last night. Believe this is accurate schedule.

                  When Nagy said that Jacks' Oakland win at home was big, he wasn't kidding.
                  NDSU blowing it tonight really hurt Jacks' chances, and I hate to say it, but it COULD come down to Jacks needing to win at Centenary. Jacks need UMKC to rise to the occasion and beat Centenary next week. Don't want this to get down to tiebreakers. WIU has three tough games but all are at home.
                  A win in Fargo would clinch tournament berth for Jacks, though.

                  NDSU 13-2 (SDSU, @Cent @ORU)
                  ORU 11-3 (@SUU, @UMKC, SDSU, NDSU)
                  Oakland 10-5 (@IUPUI, SUU, UMKC)
                  SUU 7-7 (ORU, Cent, @Oakland, @IPFW)
                  IUPUI 7-8 (IPFW, Oakland, @WIU)
                  SDSU 7-8 (@NDSU, @ORU, @Cent)
                  WIU 6-9 (Oakland, IPFW, IUPUI)

                  Centenary 5-9 (@UMKC, @SUU, NDSU, SDSU)

                    Re: Summit League Standings

                    I did use the information from your earlier post NVJ, and you are right, it does make one change in the calculation. IPFW only needs to lose three of four for us to get in without a win in our remaining three games, i.e., a win over UMKC for them, and three losses would put them out of contention.

                      UMKC 2-12 (Centenary, ORU< @IPFW, @Oakland)
                      We have the tiebreakers vs. IPFW, Centenery, and WIU unless Centeney can beat NDSU. IPFW has to win 3 of 4 and we need to lose out inorder for them to finish ahead of us. Same with Centenery. Western would have to win 2 of 3 and we would have to lose out. We haven't clinched yet, but we are definitely in the driver's seat. A win or two would sure help seeding though.

                          Last years rules:

                          After the 18 game conference season, teams are seeded by conference record with the following tie-breakers:

                          * Head-to-head competition
                          * Winning percentage vs. ranked conference teams (starting with #1 and moving down until the tie is broken)
                          * Ratings Percentage Index
                          * Coin flip

                          Current standings:
                          NDSU 13-2 (SDSU, @Cent @ORU)

                          SUU 7-7 (ORU, Cent, @Oakland, @IPFW)

                                I merged the "SDSU Playoff Chances" thread in with this one . . . the tiebreaker procedure for the Summit League can now be found upthread here.
