I was planning to watch Moss and the Lynx play Yankton tomorrow night at the SAC. However, I see in the Argus today that he has an ankle injury and will miss "a couple more weeks". That puts his status for the game on the 14th up in the air, too. Too bad, I was looking forward to visiting with him.

Here is a quote from Terry's Blog

The SDSU men are getting consideration from James Granstra, a 6-11 senior center from Southwest Star Concept, although he’s not likely to choose a school until after the prep season. Granstra played AAU ball for the Howard Pulley Panthers this summer and surpassed 1,000 career points in this week’s opener.
I know that we have two 6'-10" redshirt freshmen and Cordova is 6'-8" (I believe he is that tall), but you can't teach height and I know we could have used another big player last night. I hope this kid picks State. I think there will be an opportunity to play if comes here

      Go State!!! 8-) 8-) 8-)

This info came from a Cornell Message Board

Cornell is reportedly heavily recruiting James Granstra, a 6-10 post player from Edgerton, MN, SW Concept Star HS (AAU: Pulley Panthers). His AAU coach has reported that Granstra has cut his college choices down to South Dakota State, North Dakota State and Cornell after receiving varying interest throughout the Ivy Leauge. Granstra also had confirmed scholarship offers from solid northeastern programs--Fairfield and Northeastern. Unlike other big man Ivy prospects, Granstra is already very physically developed, tipping scales at 240 pounds. With Andrew Naeve and Jason Hartford graduating this year, Granstra would be a near lock to start as a freshman next year. He averaged 17.8 points, 9.6 rebounds and 5.4 blocks a contest as a junior. Although his numbers are deceiving as he played somewhat low level high school competition. He is still very much developing offensively. On the bright side, he is already a terrific shot blocker, in fact, Granstra recorded 13 blocks in a game twice last year. He is also a solid rebounder. He flourished during the summer AAU circuit with one of the top programs in the country, the Pulley Panthers. His coach also commented that he runs the floor very well for a big man and Rivals reports that he is a good finisher around the basket getting garbage points off of put-backs. Minnesota Preps ranks him the #13 prospect in the state. As an Ivy League freshman, he could take up space in the paint, grab some rebounds and block some shots. Hopefully, further down the road he could develop into an offensive presence.

I did some reading about James Granstra, Scout.com has him listed as a two star recruit and MN prep thinks he could be the best shoot blocker in the state of Minnesota this year.  It sounds like he is down to NDSU, SDSU, and Cornell.  Rumor has it NDSU may not have a scholarship available for him and of course Cornell doesn't offer "traditional" athletic scholarships.  He could be a very good get for us considering we could use some size in the middle.

Getting this kid would be huge for us. Hopefully Nagy can sell him on what a difference he could make for this team. All we are missing is the inside presence right now.

Agree that he would be a HUGE addition (pun intended).  Not sure that is all we are missing right now, though.

NDSU still has one scholarship left to give out but I don't know if NDSU is after this guy or not. Miles said he is looking at a few 6' 10" guys.

I think Cordova's closer to 6'6", if I remember correctly.

I went back and Cordova is usually listed as 6'6" or 6'7", with that said it is possible that he has grown, be it actual growth or basketball program growth.   ;D My guess is he is between 6'6" and 6'7".

We need Granstra and heighth.  I am told we might not be as tall next year as we are this year. I know how sensitive people are to rumors of transfers here so I will leave it at that.....  I've watched Granstra play last year and he would be a great get.  Here's to hoping he becomes a Jack!

It might be easier to sell the Jacks to him than the Bison because it is a shorter drive for his parents to watch games!

With that said, I believe Cornell is a good Ivy league team.  I believe a Timberwolves' executive's son, the Whitmann kid, is lighting it up for Cornell.

What you're alluding to has nothing to do with transferring, but with an athlete who doesn't believe going to class is a necessary part of being a STUDENT-athlete.

Enough dancing around, can anyone inform us what player we may be losing? If it's deemed inappropriate to discuss at this point...just tell me to shut my yapper.

It's safe to assume everyone is referring to Bob Bilitz (sp).

Thanks for the info. After asking the question again today, I noticed that another poster had informed me of the same information over PM. I wasn't really used to checking for messages.
