New Head Coach: Bryan Petersen

Or maybe, just maybe, Klink does not aspire to be a head coach. Not every good assistant coach wants to be a head coach. Sometimes, people reach a level of being content - still driven to succeed, but content/happy with their position. In this case, I have no idea as I've never spoken to the man.

How do we know that Klink didn't get a chance at this? I have heard that he is going with Hendo to Drake but I am not sure when we will know that for sure. Certainly the staff announcements for Drake and for SDSU will be the next big news right alongside any player movement. The Zen philosopher Basha once wrote, 'A flute with no holes, is not a flute. A donut with no hole, is a Danish.'

Yes…I guess the best case scenario is that your coach does well enough to get a “better” job. Worse case is that no one wants them because they do so poorly.

For those saying Hendo wasn't that great... (good but not great) or give him a B grade.
Do you remember when TJ left? We lost Daum, and TK, and a squad full of seniors. and DJ Jr, and Caleb Grill...
Hendo rebuilt that squad immediately with Doug Wilson and Baylor Scheierman.
The first time Oral Bob won the Conference Tournament and went to the Sweet Sixteen, they beat SDSU on a last second putback in the Pentagon in the semis.
Hendo then won the Summit the next season, becoming the first team to ever go undefeated in the league. (Oral Bob did it the next year, with the help of a couple of transfers)
The year AFTER Oral Bob went undefeated in conference, the Jacks won the league again, coast to coast, start to finish, and won the conference tournament.
Then, THIS season, he completely rebuilt the squad again. Mors and Garry the only guys who got PT the season before, and had 6 freshmen (true and redshirt) in the 9 man rotation. And he finished 3rd in the league.
Some of you are very hard to please, or delusional at best. Look at our Neighbors to the South. They would KILL for success like that. Hendo and crew lost ONE home game all season, playing a bunch of freshmen.
Was it all Hendo? Heck no! The assistants had a big part to do with it. Pete and Klink have been instrumental in this whole run.
I preferred selecting Pete, because he has HC experience (at a JC), and the rumors that I heard a ways back, that how much all the players loved him.
For crying out loud, even USD fans like Hendo, and he's beaten them 10 straight times.
So yeah, if in 6 years, he won the regular season or tied 4 times, won the conference tournament twice, and totally rebuilt the roster twice in those 6 years. Never finishing worse than 3rd.

One thing in common between Hendo, Otz, Nagy, etc… one heck of a fan base that supports the Jacks!

I agree and hope you are right. Unfortunately for Coach P, there is already a big difference in college basketball from when Hendo took over to today. Hendo was not dealing with the transfer portal, NIL and collectives when he took over and from what I hear, we are way behind in those areas including some SL schools.
