I hate to have sour grapes, but I hope Drake sucks next year. Losing Goodbarry is worse than losing Larson and Hadnot.

Hendo could say the same about Schiermann, and Mayo, and Grill and … welcome to the new age of CBB

that said, I am not sure that what he has done is not dirtier than the FB situation. Jimmy took all the coaches. Hendo leaves someone he cares about (from all that we know. and that would seem more than accurate with all we know about Hendo) to continue on at the program he has professed a lot of love for. he leaves him there to carry on and build on the great traditions. he sends a public message wishing him well. but he takes most of the coaching staff. he takes the starting FRESHMAN PG and 2/3 of the incoming recruit class. that would be %25 of the current roster and we will see what happens with Hadnot

yep, you bet, love ya Pete, good luck! dont mind me while I take 3 key building blocks out from under your nose, but honest, really I mean it, I wish the best for you and the Jacks
Maybe it was less Henderson taking Larson and more Larson having an opportunity to play closer to home. Remember, that was one of the arguments folks made for former Jacks that Rogers "took" staying here.

The timing stinks, but Cluff made his visit during last year's Spring Game, so there's a chance that future Jack(s) might get a similar pitch this year. The difference is the assistant won't be Klink this time (and it might even need to be Petersen).

Klink is also returning to his home state, so maybe he sees this as an opportunity to set himself up for retirement in the state where he eventually wants to do that.

i am absolutely NOT a prospect expert!! so I could definitely be wrong. and regardless of my liking their choices or not, OR how much it sucks that I will not get to watch them play for the team i root for, i do wish them the best

that said, why do you say losing Goodbarry is worse than larson? Larson has already proven to be a very good D1 PG. he had an excellent freshman season and was playing his best ball of the year when he got hurt. Larson is a proven at this point. lots and LOTS of great prospects never prove to be any kind of player at all

obviously there is some type of ranking available. is Goodbarry ranked higher than our other incoming class?

in my mind, at this moment, Larson is clearly the most painful loss, but losing Bahl and Goodbarry does hurt a LOT. it was set up to be a great team. the 2024 class had the guards and Wilkinson, and the 2025 class provided the forwards

from all that i understood, i was SHOCKED to hear Larson was leaving. my understanding was that he decided he wanted to be a Jackrabbit LONG before Hendo was the HC, so I was surprised it was so important to him to follow Hendo

someone already pointed out the distance and the fact that Brookings is closer to home. beyond that, small town NW Iowa is way way WAY MORE similar to Brookings than it is to Des Moines.

It honestly feels like until something changes with our NIL funding and the transfer portal, we are going to have a hard time maintaining any relevance in men’s basketball. Our league is getting gutted annually at this point. I just hope women’s basketball doesn’t turn into this for us although we’re getting a small taste of it this year. Hopefully we can keep getting the best local recruits but Goodbary is proof we can’t bet on that anymore either.

Goodbarry had a chance to be a Grant Nelson type, they just aren't in the SL often. Really good point guards are a lot more common.

Even with everything we lost, we still have to be considered as one of the favorites to win the conference next season. Even St. Thomas, which probably has one of the bigger NIL pots with them being a private school with big endowments, lost Barnstable and Blue to the portal plus graduating a bunch. Oh, and I saw on Twitter that Duke's projected NIL budget for next season is $ 8 to 10 million. The system is broken and I don't know that it's going to get fixed without some kind of legislation.

It sounds like there is progress.
The NCAA is working on revenue sharing and an NIL clearinghouse

Still working on getting legislative approval for antitrust exemption.

Believe it or not these are foundational pieces for reigning in the Wild West we are currently living in.

SDSU should always be near the top of the Summitt. Fan support, revenue, facilities are stronger than most.

This is true. The Summit isn’t good. We have a roster in place to compete for the top half and with a few impact JUCO or portal acquisitions we should be able to compete for a championship.
