I was thinking Krabbenhoft could be a candidate at SDSU someday. I hope Henderson gets the job as clearly he is ready to move on and I feel we have good options internally and externally.

But, that could be false too, Drake doesn't have to disclose salaries, so who knows.
$3 million per year, or over a 3/5 year contract?

UNI is paying their coach around $900k annually. Fran Mccaffrey was scheduled to make $2.1 million base for 2025-2026 at Iowa. I doubt McCollum was taking a pay cut to go from Drake to Iowa.

This was posted on a Drake message board:
Wisconsin Badgers head coach Greg Gard has made a few changes to his coaching staff over the past few seasons, hiring former players like Kirk Penney and Greg Stiemsma, while also bringing in Isaac Woodajo as the Director of Recruiting.

Now, he could possibly face a departure.

The Drake Bulldogs are reportedly set to hire South Dakota State head coach Eric Henderson as their next head coach. Why does that relate to the Badgers?

Well, assistant head coach Joe Krabbenhoft could very well hear his name in the mix for the new opening, as he coached at South Dakota State as an assistant from 2014-16 before returning to his alma mater in Madison.

This was posted about 18 hours ago, but most likely speculation. Certainly contrary to Hardin comments to KCCI.

The idea of Krabbenhoft coming to SDSU is appealing!

I wanted the main takeaway to be about $$ so that's on me for incorporating Zimmer and McFeely into this. Kolpack I believe has posted an article or two for BBall portal stuff. In light of Hendo and Timmer news, I do think fans in general need to be more exposed to the underbelly for us to continue to acknowledge it and address it.

In fact some of Gaskins recent material has had me question whether or not I wanted to click on it. One of the topics in the last show was the Henderson Drake thing and he mentioned that in a tweet or two. I saw the tweets and the talk in the discords. But not everyone else did. We ask, do I really want to listen to him talk about SDSU's HC potentially going elsewhere? Some people may have been rubbed the wrong way by it. The tweet for today's episode is similar, "What kind of a job is Drake for a coach like Eric Henderson — if there's mutual interest?" His poll questions have been engaging in a similar way.

I did end up listening to the episode. He had like a 45 minute interview with '25 football player Landon Dulaney

This probably boils down to different categories that fans fall in, as pointed out by Gaskins, but I think we all just have to acknowledge it somehow and start thinking about how SDSU competes in this new day and age. I think this mostly means targeting the whales and doing a better job w/ NIL and companies. You guys see how one St. Johns billionaire is covering like the entire team's NIL? What if J. Lohr gives x million to the athletic program and we rename the AD position after him like a lot of these other programs are doing (to generate revenue with new house settlement).

Let's be honest for a second. You guys saw that Zimmer stayed out of the football transfer portal stuff. It was McFeely who basically did all of the reporting on it, so I assume Zimmer is probably staying out of this one, too.

Who would have fed this information to Elsen? (as noted by others, this info presumably came from SDSU side & not Drake side)

I think this is a blessing in disguise in the sense that it's now mobilizing donors if it didn't before. Burner community says he's the leading candidate but it wasn't publicly posted on twitter (or if it was, it was done by fresh accounts just copying info from the burner discord). Someone had to put it out there.

I interpreted those Rotert tweets a little differently. I thought he was defending her given his post about the winning record, how she was scrubbed from site, etc. tweets(P1) (part2) and part3
"She compiled a record of 80-44 (57-31 GPAC) and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in each of her four seasons. (2/2)"
"My sources have indicated that this is not an accurate portrayal of the way things went down, but it’s the term they’re using."

Zimmer's mentioned his policy that he'll report when there's "news" (e g., new conference home/realignment, new coach, etc)

Elsen was better this year, than I thought he could be, but... he's a horrendous USD homer. Like really bad.

people can say whatever they want. this would be a lateral move. no matter how many teams the MV used to put in the tourney, they are now a one bid league. this is a lateral move.

at the same time, this is at least two years in a row that Hendo is spending the offseason looking for a new place to work. I wish him health, happiness, and success, but if he wants out that bad, then it is probably better that he gets it over with.

it would be nice not to just throw out random speculation about players. pointing out that Hendo was interviewing was a fact. each of us listing our guesses on what will happen with players seems pointless. i have no idea what the players will do, but at least one player speculated to go has wanted to be a Jackrabbit since quite a while before Hendo came to brookings
It's easy to say that it's not a lateral move but if it comes with a pay raise (not necessarily but must be assumed), is to a conference: a) that has a history of multiple bids (albeit not that recent), b) to a conference and program with a recent history of winning tournament games, c) has a better media deal and d) has a higher net rating; is to a school that a) has better attendance b)more NIL resources (unknown) and c) has opted into the House settlement (unknown but would allow Drake to pay players with its MVC media money), and who has a recent history of sending coaches to P4 programs, then I think by objective measures, its a step at least up the ladder. I think the counter to that is that in such uncertain times, if you are not a blue blood, you're always going to be coaching in a state of rapid, convulsive change. If you aren't going to be at a blue blood, where will your job provide the most stability.

I also don't fault Hendo for looking for other work. While I'd like a good, lifetime coach, I'd be concerned for a young guy that isn't ambitious. At the very least, Hendo hasn't acted like SDSU is the final stop (like our late head FB coach).

If you are referring to SalemJack's suggestion about players that he expects to go with Hendo, I think its safe to say that SalemJack has a pretty good track record and that if he's putting it out there, it isn't random or speculation.
