    Anyone who has met coach for longer than five minutes, can tell you what kind of person he is. This is a step up, and I will be cheering for Drake next year. (unless they happen to bump into the Rabbits somehow}

    So... coaching possiibilities:

    My pick is Coach Pete
-head coaching experience at the Ju Co level, won a National Title at the Juco level.
-is reportedly loved by the players and I think we'd keep more if he stayed.
-I just think he checks the most boxes.
But who knows. He's an Iowa kid, played for Iowa State, and he could want to go there.

    Coach Klink
-has been the good soldier for the program for a long time. Has been passed over twice, and stayed. He likes it here, he's been a Jackrabbit BB coach forever, and it may be his time.
If Pete doesn't get it, I will be ok with Coach Klink. he kinda deserves a chance.

    Outside the Staff:
TJ"s Staff... on of the assistant's on TJ's Staff at Iowa State, was being talked about a lot by the Drake crowd. And, what was TJ before he came here, an Assistant at Iowa State. I think that guy is worth a look.

Creighton's staff: The two hires Sell has made have had Greg McDermott connections. Both TJ and Hendo worked under him. Does Creighton have an assistant coach, that is highly regarded.
Before you dismiss this thought... DeVries... who was Drakes Coach, who went to WV and now Indiana, was a McDermott assistant at Creighton, and One of the finalists that interview for the SDSU job when Otz got the job.

Joe Krabbenhoft - Assistant at Wisconsin, but a SD native, and worked on Hendo's staff.

I think these are all decent options, but maybe the go outside of the normal.

I'm confident Justin Sell will hire the right guy.

I mostly hope it's Coach Pete, so we can probably keep more players. But it's hard to say.
Did Krabbenhoft come back for a second stint after Otz left? he was definitely part of Coach Nagys staff. I am honestly not sure one way or the other if he did or did not come back for a short second stint??

would there be any chance Clint would want to come home from Wright St? I suppose he is being paid more there than what we would be offering, but it is pretty clear the family are still Jacks fans. Jill was in Connecticut for the girls games the past week. It does not seem like Wright St or the Horizon in general are necessarily stepping stones to anything very interesting,

Drake's board and that other community thought that could be a reason, too.

Seems Keith Murphy broke the news - he tweeted the update on no offers but also retweeted the elsen tweet

Yeah, I figured that the thread title change would flush the decision out.

    GO JACKS
The message board / burner discord chatter is that the AD has had other hires leaked early and took offense. It was mentioned a few times before 'trilly' said the following
"The Drake AD apparently hates when people leak ahead of him so he might sit on it out of pettiness"

The AD retweeted an associate AD remark saying that this was the single best fundraising week for the men's basketball team. Lots of passionate fans and activity on the message boards. Their external NIL is basketball only. A drake fan did indicate they would not opt-in this year. Wasn't the whole story w/ McCollum that people tried to lure him away for years and failed? He was earning 275k at NW MIssouri State

In this Gaskins clip, this Des Moines reporter says it's a good job but not a great one. He said a very great stepping stone job. Said drake didn't sell out once this year (5,000 person arena)

If that's the salary, it's a no brainer for Coach Henderson.

But, that could be false too, Drake doesn't have to disclose salaries, so who knows.
