Re: GDT: The Fighting Leathernecks of Macomb

If we win on Saturday and put a 2 game separation between us and 9th can we quit looking what's behind and who we are trying to stay in front of and start looking in front of us and seeing who we can catch. This might be the hottest team in the league right now they way we have played 3 of 4. Once Hess comes back if he can keep his stroke going this team will be able to put up some points and it seems like in the last couple we have figured out how to defend as well.

regardless I'm with everyone else in saying just get to Sioux Falls and turn it into frost south once again and see if we can put together 3 games in march.

The rebound edge was impressive again and only 6 turnovers. 62 points in the paint and shooting 58% from the field is a nice look.

              Dominating win. Needed that.

It worked to use Chuck for football pretty well too. I think we lost a game and you didn't do it. Or I missed it few weeks ago.

The passing...my goodness there looked to be a ton of crisp passing...would've liked to have been there, no doubt a fun one to watch!

Midco's color guy, Brad N, made a comment late in the game --something to the effect that the Omaha win was like a turning point. I think that was an accurate assessment.

Recall how emotional Coach Otz was after the Omaha game. Something started to emerge in that game. Tonight it looked like this team is starting to put it all together and if there's a trend getting started, then I can't wait to see how we'll be playing at the SL tourney.

i know we're not even assured of making the tourney yet but it's fun watching this team come together and I'm betting they'll be there.

Happy to see Beau Brown get a chance and put it to good use. I watched him hit plenty of three's in high school. Given the chance, he has confidence that he can score.

Good for Coach Otz! Go Jacks!

Was one of the best games I've seen us play in years.

Crisp passing. Unselfish play. Completely under control with just 6 turnovers. Dominated the boards. Huge energy on defense. Shot very well and were aggressive and assertive on offense.

Not only that, but everyone contributed, including the bench.

If we could bottle that up and play like that every game...whoa boy the tourney is gonna be fun!

Holy balls. Just watched the highlights. Love to see all of the guys that got involved... Severyn, King, Flatten... Awesome. I didn't get to see the defense, but hopefully the Leathernecks performance wasn't the reason they didn't shoot well. I'm hoping we are finding a system that works for this team. Imagine what a late season run and a good performance in the Summit League tournament will do for the confidence in this coaching regime.

You can tell what the rest of the team thinks of Beau by how they responded to his shot. TJ even mentioned it in the post game interview. For the last two seasons that kid has been the first one off the bench at every timeout and the first one up celebrating after a big shot. You have to admire that attitude.

Speaking of hashtags, here's another from early in the season: #trusttheprocess.

Well, I have to toot my own horn on that prediction! Ok, so I'm 1-fer. It's a start.

The team went well above my expectations last night. The two things that really stood out to me was that we aggressively rebounded the ball destroying WIU on the boards and we attacked the basket relentlessly last night leading to easy buckets, getting fouls, and some easy put backs. Finally, all this happened without Daum having to be the Dauminator. Kudos to guys like Orris, Howell, and Flatten for stepping it up.

If this team plays with that much heart, not only will we be in Sioux Falls at the SLT but we will be a factor. Things are looking up!!!
