I can't believe Ian Thiesen's ability is being questioned. He has the toughest down-low defensive presence on the team, and defense is Nagy's priority. No one pushes Thiesen around, at least not without a fight.

Great win. Marshall's first-half shooting was very impressive, even though he spent several minutes on the bench (nursing injuries, I assume).

I can't believe Ian Thiesen's ability is being questioned. He has the toughest down-low defensive presence on the team, and defense is Nagy's priority. No one pushes Thiesen around, at least not without a fight.

Yes Ian is tough and if he can quit picking up those quick two fouls, we may see more of him. You got to like the progress of Connor Devine. I thought he was a project, but he his starting to show his skills and hopefully that will motivate Ian more.

Kasperbauer was guarding Telly for a lot of the game and I was waiting for the Jacks to clear out underneath and let Telly post him up. It would have been enjoyable to watch him get used and abused.

I want to be sure and mention the Moffitt's contributions yesterday. He had some big plays on both ends of the court. It's great to see Devine's roll growing as well. His offensive game (while still limited) has come a long way from last season. We are going to have a three-headed monster in the front court next year if each guy continues to progress. What a luxury.

The Jacks have scored 80+ in 5 of the past 7 games.

There sure was a lot of chatter about Flack coming out of Vermillion the past week. It's like his emergence was suddenly going to make them a contender. The only impressive thing he did yesterday was a nearly perfect impersonation of a turnstyle that stood between Daum and the basket.

Daum is averaging 17.3 ppg in Summit League games. I can't find any league-wide stats for conference games, but that has to put him near the top-5. He's 11th in scoring when all games are considered, and the 10 in front of him are averaging at least 6 more minutes per game. What is the ceiling for a post that can do that as a freshman? You'll often see freshman guards come in and make a big splash but you don't see it often with a big man at this mid-major level. Those kind of guys get picked up by the BCS schools.

Amen, where would USF be if he had stayed there? I see Augie beat them at Stewart. I think they could have really used Moffitt at USF but we needed him more so. He definitely had a great game yesterday.

I'm going to have to side with the board members that are calling Ian's play "solid", though I understand your frustration with his fouling issues.

I think Theisen's foul trouble and overall play (since he could be on the floor longer and could get some rhythm) would improve dramatically if he just became more disciplined with his off hand when he is defending and going for rebounds. Too often he is pushing with that arm/hand when it's unnecessary, and refs are not going to miss that action when he does it with so much force and it's around the ball.

On another point, who else is increasingly impressed with Devine play off bench. Kid looks like he is really working hard, and he gives a really good defensive boost inside when he is in, and his offensive moves are better and are showing the polish of a lot of work. I hope he keeps geting serious time.

I like a lot of what Flack can do on the court but he needs some help from his team. He doesn't have great hands either but with playing time he can be impressive.

The bench really carried the scoring, especially in the first half. It's hard to believe we scored 44 points when 4 of the starters (everyone but Marshall) combined for one basket and 5 total points.

Connor is really stepping up. At one time during the second half after George fouled Trey Norris on a drive to the basket, you could see Connor talking with George telling him "I got your back, let him drive and don't foul, I'm defending the rim."
