Re: GDT: SDSU @ ORU Halfway through the Summit

Its a good day to be a Jacks fan..

-take over sole possession of first place.
-both rivals lose (one to the last-place team in the league).
-end a 12 game home court winning streak for ORU.
    -get first-ever win at ORU.
    -get second road win.

Is anyone still waiting for proof this team is legit?

That's a good win. Bittle was a stud in the 2nd half.

Not boxing out giving up O boards was frustrating but good effort all around. Didn't hear tellys name at all. Marshall and parks clutch free thrwos late in the game after we struggled with them all night was huge.

The anouncers seemd pretty good. Only heard san diego and one of them just kept calling us south dakota the other seemed to get it right.

Tough game for Telly because ORU pressures the perimeter all the time and the Jacks were focused on running everything through Larson.
        Holy nutmeg!

He looked like he was lost out there tonight. That's going to happen every now and then for any freshman. Horstman provided some good minutes and was wide open breaking to the basket a couple of times near the end , but Larson couldn't get him the pass.

I had the legit feeling ever since they won that three game tourney at Utah State. No question in my mind at all. They are going to finish high.

No doubt a lesson for Telly. I went to a movie tonight and heard the post game interviews. No mention of Telly which has been kind of unusual.

Wonder if DeVine would have helped on the rebounding front? Is he now in the rotation?

Not quite 30, but Bittle played well. A good game for the kid from Bixby!

Devine hasn't been playing much lately. That might be because Theisen, who's 6-9, has been playing well when he subs for Larson.

Great road win. Larson missed his first five shots, then had a heck of a game. The Jacks are in the driver's seat now for the second half of the conference season. Keeping it up and getting seeded No.1 for the tourney would be nice, indeed.

They must have really good concession stands to keep them out of their seats. The fellow who thought Larson could be contained without a double team considers Larson a pedestrian big man in the Summit. He must mean that he kept walking by the big man from the Golden Eagles. Sometimes it is hard to understand what he might have meant. Most teams including top 25 teams found it a benefit to double team Larson. It is a great win for the conference race. It had that moving day effect. The second half of conference starts Wednesday at Frost. Go jacks!!

Out of all the games I've seen this year, I think this is the first that Larson wasn't consistently double teamed in the post. Even though Larson missed his first 5 shots, he got great looks all night.

I hope more teams employ this strategy against us...
