  • GDT: SDSU @ ORU Halfway through the Summit

The Jackrabbits are in a good position nearly at the halfway mark. ORU is 4-2 compared to SDSU 5-2. A road win in Tulsa would place the Jackrabbits in a solid second place. A road win would also be the first win in Tulsa. Hopefully the Bittle Klan will make some noise at Mabee Center where ORU is 7-0 this year. 6' 3" guards Obegano and Billbury score 45% of the points for the Golden Eagles. 6'4" guard Word is the 3 pt shooter off the bench. They will play 3-4 guard offense as there is not a lot of size. Henderson is 6'7"(235 lbs.) and would be the big man. Some on the ORU board do not expect problems with Larson. Either they have a good double team scheme or a ref that will call many charges. If Larson continues his progress, there could be assists as he kicks out on the double team. This could be the year that the Jackrabbits break the ice and pick up the win in Tulsa. Go Jacks!!!

The Jacks come in with plenty of momentum and a chance to become the unofficial league favorite with a win. They'll have to be sharp. If they bring the D we seen the last couple of weeks this one should be winnable, but it won't be easy. There a reason why they are 7-0 at home and we have a losing streak there. I'd consider a win tonight to be a bonus.

This might be a game where we see theisen or devine on the floor more with larson. Feed it to larson on the low block if he gets dubble teamed try tto get it over to theisen or devine on the weak side. Pound it in side. Would expect parks and moffit to guard obi the most. I think we win finally down there finally. Unless the refs provide some home cooking I think this one is ours to take.

People complaining about the refs hours before the game starts? Tough crowd.

Tulsa is a tough place. One of the ORU posters indicated that Larson would be no problem for ORU and that he had watched Larson 3 times this year. I am not sure Larson has had 3 bad games. Also, Larson gets more than his share of charges which about half are head scratchers. We can watch today and see the replays instead of just hearing Tyler. There may even be a real crowd there today since it is the Hall of Fame Day. Normally the highlight reels have trouble finding the reported crowd in the background at Mabee.

Love having ORU back in the conference but their attendance reports are pretty funny. I still recall the "full house" a couple years back. The camera kept panning the crowd and in a lot of seats there were t-shirts layered over the seat backs. From a distance made it look as if the stands were full close ups not so much.

He needs to play his role. A great defender and rebounder. He is tough matchup for opposing teams if he plays his part.

Larson starting to dominate. Missed his first 5 shots; Now has scored SDSU's last 9 points in 1:56.

Jacks lead 21-18, 8 min to play.

EDIT: ORU with the basket and the foul into the media timeout.

                          Jacks leads 21-20.
