It would be a bit tricky if it is a head-to-head match-up tourney, but if it the top 8 go to the next round...we control 2 teams and potentially two spots in the next round or just don't vote for them anymore and they are one of the teams out.
So, you want to pick some no name team, spend a heck of a lot of time, and earn them $10,000 for doing nothing? Have to pass on this idea RTB, but at the same time want to thank you for manning the ship a lot.

Just thinking by giving them a boost and $10000, we get an allay for the following rounds. They are small enough that they couldn't beat us on their own, but may appreciate the cash and join our cause when we need it. eh, screw it, Let's go Rabbits!

Best I can do is about 5+ votes a minute on my laptop. It's a little mind-numbing, but, a great cause if we can hang in there.

At least pick someone in the Summit League, IPFW is fairly close to the top 16, I'm sure Filbert would love helping them out =).

Early voting in and Jacks are in the #1 spot for Thursday. Guessing we catch Texas Pan American sometime on
            Thursday.

We could do it for usd. Sdsufans.com raise 10K for usd. Since they can't do it themselves.

OK, I said earlier that I agreed or could understand the mindset that we don't need to burn ourselves out. But the more I think about that, the more I get a little peeved with that attitude. A lot of people have put a lot of time in this effort, and we aren't done with the first round, and we are not at the top of the heap. I know when I first heard about this last Friday, I thought, well, if we can't win it, we can at least try to get to the top 16 and get the $10,000. But when we saw how our fans could perform, we raced from 123rd (where it was when I first opened the site), to 4th this morning. So, FWIW, here's how I feel about it (knowing I will be gone and on the road and unable to work on the voting, until the weekend): I think our first goal ought to be to make sure we get in the top 3. That should be doable if we keep at it. Second goal would be to get to #2, and then, of course, we surely would like to be #1...even in this first round.

I am realistic, however. Arkansas State got a jump on NDSU, according to the Bison, but NDSU still started voting two weeks before we knew about it. Since last Friday, we have in 6 days, passed everybody except the top 3. I am not sure how much of a start Texas Pan-American got ahead of us, but the reality is that they may all be quite a few votes ahead of us. But I sure believe we should make an effort to get to #1. I think two things happen...we need to keep building our base and having a goal of getting to #1 gives something to encourage others to pitch in. And when we get to the next and successive rounds, we are going to need a bigger base. I think we need to keep the Big Wheel churning up the river!!!

And a postscript before I turn in tonight, for the third day in a row, the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits were #1 in voting for the NCAA's 6thFan contest! I hope everybody will go out after Texas Pan-American tomorrow! GO JACKS!

I think you may be right,i've voted today and it's not the same feeling,it's discouraging when you think your the only one voting, everythings so slow (the performance meter just doesn't move)...and will we get it all going again like when things were clicking.Maybe it was a mistake to slow down.I'm having second thoughts now.

Only four days left before the big time action starts, maybe we slowly start cranking it up a little each day. This Sundays the start of the elite eight round.A fast start is key to all future rds,the one that starts too slow may never catch up in only six days and against someone determined to stay in the lead.
It's kind of like a sports team, when the teams feeling it and everythings going right for you and wrong for them, pour it on and get everything you can from that magical time, because the momentem could change at any moment. Not a good time to take a time out.

I have been reading the posts on the site for quite awhile, mainly just so I could keep updated with news, rumors etc, figured it was time to actually join & contribute. I have been voting since since becoming aware of this contest & it has been awesome to see us shoot up the board. I work from home so I have a fair amt of time to hammer the votes & still stay reasonably productive with my job. With 3 young kids, my voting comes to a screeching halt when school is out. I plan on voting at the same pace I have been & then picking it up Monday when I get back to "work".

Peoples storys like yours are inspirational to all of us,people feed off other peoples energy and they in return put forth more energy. This is a team (school) thing and we have the greatest team in this event.... "release the rabbit"....sorry for the Clash of the Titans references

I challenge all the "retired" people who don't have commitments like the youngsters do to occupy some of that spare time to voting when the young people can't because they're working or studying.Time to make a difference again.

I do about session of 10 min where I average about 3 per minute. I can only do it about twice an hour since I'm at work and don't want to get in trouble for being on the phone. Work pretty much block all major sports sites. Trying my best to bring up the vote totals.

I spoke to a HS class today. We had about 7 minutes left over, so I had them get their laptops out and go through the voting process. That was an easy 30 votes!
