One comment about learning to play his back to basket really impressed me since, we have not had a true post player though Fiegen, Heemstra and Dykstra have given their best. Stu was asking about being a 3 or 4 but seems like he could start as a 5 and allow Devine more time to work his way into being the true 5 guy.

Lastly, he seems to be intellectually motivated, Stu mentioned that he always had good grades. We cant go wrong on this deal. You just cant believe all this crap that the Argus Liar prints. This has been my source of info on Cody Larson, but after yesterday's interview, we are seeing a real individual.

    Just my thoughts.
Yesterday's interview was done by the Argus Leader.

Yes I noticed that. One of Stu's finer moments was this interview. Maybe I should have included the message board of which I most likely contributed to some of the negatives surrounding the life of Cody Larson. That's right the Argus Leader is your former employer. Don't tell me that no one from Castlewood ever referred to the beloved Argus Leader in this fashion and this is the first ever you saw someone refer to the Argus Leader as the Argus Liar.

I'm glad Cody is a Jackrabbit, and I hope things work out for him on the court, in the classroom, in the community, and after school.

But part of me says, talk is cheap. Its relatively easy to say the right things in an interview. Its a little harder to make good choices day in and day out.

With all that being said, I'll reserve judgement one way or the other. Good luck at SDSU!

Good interview. Liked a lot of the things he said and more importantly the way he said them and gave detail on his position. At the end of the day it is up to him to walk the walk.

I did get a chuckle out of Stu and his snarky interview style. Wouldn't expect anything less out that guy. Really loved the question about being a bad teammate. I appreciate wanting to ask the "tough" question but he made an ass out of himself.

            Re: Cody Larson to SDSU

Stu clarified who might call him a "bad teammate" and for what reasons after Cody said he was hurt by that (he thought the comments came from his former teammates or coaches).
I thought that was pretty decent of Stu,although he should have been more concise in explaining "bad teammate" to begin with.

              Re: Cody Larson to SDSU

I was surprised that Larson and Stu even mentioned the possibility of being eligible right away and having three years of eligibility. If all of the down time was due to injuries that might be a possibility, but I can't see the NCAA doing that under these circumstances. You would think both Cody and the Jacks would do backflips if he could get two seasons and be eligible right away.

Stu tossed out a red herring. He definitely had no source to attribute a statement about any teammate chatter. Filbert may have asked for a question leading like Stu's to require a source. Stu's reaction appeared to have some discomfort due to the question being turned around.

A player who gets kicked off a team when others are relying on him is, by definition, a bad teammate. No red herring there.

I could be mistaken, but Larson wasn't kicked off Florida's basketball team, was he? He lost his scholarship and then quit. Most players would understand his situation and I don't think they would consider it being a bad teammate when the financial incentive is removed... I certainly wouldn't. Is a coworker a bad coworker if they quit after receiving a cut in pay?

I don't mind that Stu asked the question, its a question casual Argus Leader readers and Jackrabbit fans would want asked.

If Larson is that much of a bad apple, it's hard to believe that Billy Donavan and Florida would be helping find a new school and with his NCAA waiver appeal.

I feel confident its a win-win situation. The USD fans might feel slighted since Cody did not even contact USD about a transfer. His one only choice was SDSU.

Probably referring to his HS days. He let his team down getting suspended his senior year.

Wasn't he kicked off the team in high school.

This, 1,000 percent. It's a journalist's job to ask questions, even uncomfortable ones, especially uncomfortable ones, and the real red herring in this discussion is to assert that the good teammate question is not a central part of this whole debate.
