Re: Ball State Interested in Scott Nagy

Back when I was at Basic Training at Ft. Benning, on sundays we would get bored so my platoon and the platoon above us would have slap-fighting matches in a circle. They were pretty intense, so I think the closed fist part is mute.

What were we talking about again? I could swear the thread subject is "Ball State Interested in Scott Nagy" and now it appears I've clicked on the wrong thread once again. My bad.
I updated my signature for the first time in six years.

a slap is never "mute." They are usually louder than a closed-fist punch. But the difference may be "moot."

BTW what is the latest on Ball State and their choice for head coach? Any tweets out of Munice worth reading?

Just that they are about to start 2nd round of interviews and hope to make selection by the weekend and have press conference next Tuesday (when they get back from the Final 4). Nagy is one of only 2 confirmed to have interviewed but there is belief that at least 12 have been seriously interviewed.

Dane Fife has Las Vegas line of 7 to 2 to become next Ball State head coach.

Well from everything I've read he definitely wants the job, if the money can be right that is.

With an apology to anyone who feels this didn't belong in this thread, I apparently need to clarify.

I wasn't suggesting that Pace had hit Margenthaler with an open hand (much less that doing so would have been acceptable). No one from either team makes that claim in either article, but when Margenthaler and his assistants repeatedly accuse Pace of throwing a jab/punch, the closed-fist part isn't moot.

IIUC we are now discussing an incident from 8 years ago? Not related to the thread about our MBB coach. I didn't get the memo! What am I missing?

No way. The ethical difference between him and Nagy is the difference between black and white. Nagy kept him in check when he was an assistant. We do not want Margenthaler.
It kinda took off from there.

Yeah, we like to get the cart ahead of the horse. My bad for interjecting my thoughts. I would be surprised if Nagy left. Perhaps I am a bit naive though.

Over on the Gophers board in a thread about coaching searches , Dwayne Stephens , the top assistant at Michigan State was mentioned as being in the running for the Ball State job as well as the Gophers job. Would be interesting if both Stephens and Fife , who are now coworkers are interviewing for the same job.

It happened for one of the Cal-State jobs, where 2 UCLA coaches were interviewing for the same position.
