I just saw that Horstman foul video for the first time too. Unbelievable! The fact that they called it as the clock ran out is even more shocking. I've always quickly dismissed people who "blame the refs", but seeing that clip (partnered with the history of this crew) makes me wonder. Crazy.

That being said, MAKE YOUR DAMN FT's!

Edit: That call was so BAD that the KDLT video needs to be reposted:

I've sent the video to 'Pardon the Interruption', 'Around the Horn' and 'Sportscenter'. Any other suggestions?

Edit: I've sent it to several media outlets...mostly ESPN affiliated.

wow, I was hoping you guys were just over exaggerating. That needs to be sent to the NCAA or who ever is in change of officials. he raised his arm for the rebound if it went his way but there is no one evey around him.....WTF was the ref seeing. Did he think he pushed someone or what? thats unbeliveable. Send the video with the stats that sturgis saw about those officials and never let them officiate a game again.

The video itself doesn't do the situation complete justice because mistakes will happen from time to time. Any complaints that are sent off need to include the officials statistics that SturgisJeff posted as well as how the game was going up to that point with the traveling calls, etc. If its all put into proper context, that video will be quite effective towards getting these clowns suspended, or possible other disciplinary actions.

Mark O. shows it twice in his SDSU highlights during KDLT's 6 o'clock sports cast.

As you can plainly see, Horstman and the Jacks mauled the Bakersfield rebounders to the point that suspensions are probably warranted. Fair warning! This footage is not for the faint of heart.

Live and learn, no more games with CSUB ever. Make sure every other program in the Summit knows the sordid details. Make your FT's and win the game despite the conspiracy.

I was looking through some more of their games at home and it seems they get a lot of refs who only do their home games and no one else. Who knows if this is common practice at schools or what. They sure do win a lot at home though. Maybe joining the WAC will stop this or if thats how they do it in that conference or what.

Maybe some people on here ref games at various levels. Wouldn't there be communication between the refs talking about the game as it goes, calls that were made, and jst in general making sure they are on the same page? That would seem reasonable to me. You see them huddle in timeouts. I'm assuming they're not talking about where they are headed to eat after the game.

Anyone can make a mistake. We all do. Although that is as bad of a call as you will ever see. If you showed that video to me but the games were between two teams I don't care about I would still say the away team got hosed.

When you add up the calls for the whole game, the stats on the refs above, and the horrible final call it does leave a pretty bad taste in your mouth.

Hats off to Coach Nagy for being pretty classy about it. Can you imagine how Kampe would've reacted?

Reading this thread late, and admit I'm confused. Tyler Merriam reported that the foul was on Chad White. I've watched the video and Chad looks to be looking up with a player in front of him and between him and Nate, who clearly got the rebound. Was the foul on White (Tyler said Horstman at first and then changed it)? Either way, we didn't play well enough to win, but we sure got screwed in losing it that way.

Looked at the play-by-play description on the official game stats on GoJacks - the foul was called on White.

During the SDSU transition period, seems like we had the same problem in obtaining and assigning the refs. Seems like when the Great West alliance was formed, some of Dooples staff did the job. With an independant, they are free to hire just about anyone and they have to pay mileage, so getting some one from LA or even Fresno might be an extra expense. I really dont know where these guys were from but no doubt they live in the Bakersfield area.

I think our guys could have played better and won the game.

I believe the refs gave Chad the foul. There wasn't actually any infraction on that play but there doesn't have to be a rules violation for the ref to assign a foul to someone and award FTs to someone else. As I said, nuts and bolts......

I listened to the game and I remember Tyler saying that the roadrunners were more aggressive than the Jacks in the game. Tyler also mensioned through out the game various questionable travel calls out of bounds call and offensive fouls called against the jacks. I think the refs contributed to some our turnover problems and limited our aggressiveness to the hoop with thier calls. There were also many late wistles that were called after the ball fell off the rim for the roadrunners. This is evident in the shooting percentage they had in the second half. The whole game tape should be reviewed by the NCAA. The performance by the Refs is the same as a player being paid to shave points.
