just for comparison I went back to the 2007-2008 Jackrabbit season when they were independents to see what refs they got for games. the majority had a ton of experience and were conference affilitated with one or more conferences. guess there must be a lack of officials in or willing to work in California.

The Jacks were independents? It was the first year in the Summit League and last year of transition.

Bingo, plus they have to pay mileage and overnight lodging if they come from LA. This could break the budget for next year's WAC travel.
