Nate had few chances to drive as the Yotes sagged one guard and brought the post out everytime he juked back and forth. Two good points about that: Nate is smart enough and good enough to step back for the 3's (4 of 5) as well as find somebody else open. Second point: That is one of the reasons we got 15 offensive boards because the Coyotes all bunched up to keep him out of the lane. Worked out just fine for us. And ditto to the kudos given to Tony Fiegen and the players who are quick to and from the double: result Bjorkland 4 points, Gruis 3 points.

It really was good how we defended the post against those guys. send help at different times from different players also got in passing lanes so it was tough for them to move the ball out also.

FYI or food for thought, the referee tonight that bears a resemblance to ESPN's Tim Kurkjian, refs a lot of Big Ten games.

This same guy is doing the Indiana vs Michigan game tonight.

I hope the students can continue to show up and be the sixth man as they did in the NDSU, USD and the Kansas City games. I didn't get bothered by the "daddy's boy" taunt -- Jordan Boots in the post-game press conference was complimentary about the atmosphere (and, I thought he played just fine so the taunt was a little hollow --- wonder if Doug McDermott gets that taunt at Creighton games?) I thought the weakest chant was "let's play football". Hmmm...not college quality -- sounded like a chant one hears at a high school game.

Student participation will be critical as we finish the regular season, particularly in the Western Illinois game. It's a pretty good bet that game may decide the regular-season conference championship and the #1 seed for the League's tourney. Will WIU rent Augie students like they did in last year's SL Tourney (I thought that was pretty funny)?

not going to say it was or wasnt but on TV it to me sounded like lets play football. football was really the only thing obvious they were saying but to me I thought thats what they said.
