    Re: Minnesota

Our chances do slim down without wolters and taevaun, even my glasses aren't that blue and yellow. Dykstra's chance to stand up and shine a little bit, develop his leadership. Dont even think of playing Nate if he can't go...too many games to go in the season that are more important
With fans like this who needs enemas.....

Just give him a cortisone shot and some pain killers and hes good to go.

Yep. Time to shut him down for tonight (and vs. Dakota State) so he's 100% for CSU-Bakersfield and on.

            Re: Minnesota

It really depends on the severity of the ankle sprain.

Lot of times the biggest issue is just getting the ankle loosened up and ready to go, and then keeping it loose. I think if he can get comfortable enough to play he should be allowed to go for this game, and give him a mandatory rest against Dakota State. Obviously if there is a risk of further injury, he needs to sit, but in my experience with ankle injuries I've found them to be more annoying than debilitating.

Essentially what I'm saying is I trust our trainers' and Nate's ability to evaluate the injury and make the appropriate decision.

I had an ankle sprain once, and it was easily one of the most painful things I've experienced. My whole foot was purple, which looked pretty cool by the way. I had problems with rolling it a lot for about 3-4months, but I was able to do everything just fine and yes it annoying. Now a high ankle sprain or a complete tear is a whole other story.

                Re: Minnesota

Minnesota will be tough, and the best team we've seen so far.

Without Prince, that hurts. With a limited Wolters, that is very tough.

Although hopefully this gives the guys a chance to grow up... what are you going to do if Nate isn't out there?

Put on your big boy pants, and go play. Could be a blessing for down the road this season? (Weak, I know...but I'm trying to spin a positive.)

This is going to give Jake Bittle some forced on-the-job training. It may not be pretty in the short term, but it will pay dividends later in the season. I've been impressed with his ball-handling and defensive game. The offense will come. He isn't Nate, but who is ? Jake is going to be a very good player who will make his own mark in his Jackrabbit career.

ESPN3 question. If my internet provider doesn't carry ESPN3 is there anyway to receive the game. I have the Jackrabbit Extra, but it looks like they can't broadcast the feed either. (Looks like I'm going out tonight)

The spread on the game is Gophers by 14 1/2. Might have to lay a wager on the Rabbits tonight!

                        Re: Minnesota

Damn. I just read about Wolters. Very unfortunate. As much as I want to see what he can do against a top-20 team, I hope the coaches are very conservative with him. We don't need another Sumner/Kansas situation here.

Bittle will get tested under fire tonight. The whole team is going to have their hands full just trying to keep this one within 15 points. Hopefully they'll come out of it with some improvements.

Nate Wolters, who was considered OUT for the game against the Gophers comes out of the locker room 1 minute before tipoff and drops 40 on the stunned crowd of 12,000 at Williams Arena.

I seem to recall that Nate traveled to and from Washington last season with his foot in an air cast. If my memory is correct, that's bad news for the Gophers.
