    We knew it would be ugly and can credit WIU's amazing defense for that. Callahan put that team on his back in the last couple of minutes. Ice cold. Carlson also deserves huge credit for his defense during the last 10 seconds of the game (not to mention the previous 45 minutes). This team found a way to win the biggest game in school history in spite of having both Dykstra and Wolters struggling to score. They battled. I'm so glad I was in the Arena to see it first-hand.

        Hats off to Chad White also. I know everyone stepped up but CHAD had some huge threes when we needed them.. So proud we hit ft in the clutch. The ugliest game we could have and win. WOWSERS.
        It's just an old Army trick I learned in the Navy.

          My god that was frustrating to watch. I wish we'd never have to play WIU ever again. But the Jacks kept it together and pulled off a huge win. Now we have to just wait and see where the tournament selection committee puts us.

            I wish Griff would have been on the all tournament team. He jumped out of the gym for some big rebounds,and had a big block,in addition to the obvious free throws and the huge three.

              was it parks who was blocked? and was it Griff or white? I cant tell 3/4th of the team looks a like its hard to tell sometimes when they are all flying around.

                I think this game might have not been pretty, but we manged to beat Western Illinois at thier game with defence and rebounding. We even had to stop trying to push the pace of the game because our shots were not falling. I hope we can play our own style of basketball durring the dance and possibly sneek out a few upsets.

                  Nate seemed gassed towards the end of regulation and OT. He's played a ton of minutes this year. This upcoming break will be good for him and the rest of the team. Here's to scoring a few upsets at the NCAA tournament.

                      I'm not sure who took the shots,but Griff swatted one and Chad White also blocked a couple if I remember correctly.

                        Just found out from a friend that a large portion of the WIU student section were Augie students paid to be there by ESPN or SF Sports Authority so WIU had people to cheer for them. Late in the game the people around them started an Augie sucks cheer that spread into our section and lasted for a few seconds during 1 time out. I couldn't understand why it started but found out today. The friend of mine is from Sioux Falls and was sitting behind the section.

                        I went to school at State the first time through from 86-90. Always hated Augie much more than the U. This just confirms my feelings still today.

                          Just saw on ESPN2 college basketball, a screen that said "Tickets Punched" Out of the Ordinary...Jackrabbits jumping for joy...South Dakota State's first ever bid
                          They had a picture of the USD Coyote paw in red to the left with SD in the middle!

                            Its been one day and ESPN is already messing it up?!? Its not like we are exactly brand new to the network. Women have been on 4 years in a row now along with our Bracketbusters game. Total lack of respect for as they show they really don't seem to care. Of course I don't expect an apology from them, though I did kinda get one when I busted them on this on their mobile site about 5 or 6 years ago when they called us the Coyotes on there. This was when USD was still DII.
