    Re: Buffalo

I actually think Buffalo's coach was doing a good job out there.

Just seemed to me to be a guy who was trying to get the most out of his guys, and wasn't getting it.

    Honestly.

Other than one comment, I thought Buffalo's fan board was respectful. They thought they had better talent but were plain out played and out coached. Understandable comments.

            Re: Buffalo

One thing I have noticed from the Jacks playing teams from the coasts is their obsession with how a certain person is ranked out of high shool. Unless you are a top150 recruit who is to say that you are going to pan out better just because you have a 3 star and the next kid as a 2 star. Every player develops different after high school. Some are late bloomers and some dont improve after high school due to injuries, being burnt out or reasons similar to those. Also it doesn't matter how talented you are if you don't play as a team. Look at VCU, Butler, George Mason, they weren't as talented as some of the teams but they had chemistry and played amazing together playing more talented teams. They had chemistry and played as a team and just because you are talented and lose doesn't mean it is always on the coach. The coach doesn't throw away passes, take ill-advised shots, miss free throws. The players do. Coaches get too much of the credit and too much of the blame.

Love the technology. Saw the games in Frost then returned home to watch the DVR of the Buffalo game.

SDSU has a bigger advantage on the road. And you know who's driving that? Wolters. Wolters has 207 attempts so far this year (that's over a hundred more than the next closest player).

SDSU has 200 more attempts than their opponents, and most of that is coming on the road, not at home. SDSU hasn't had a significant advantage in FTs @ home before the last two three games (excluding the D2 games), the advantage at home is something like +30 coming into this game, and +200 overall.

I think that this game was not as easy as the score showed. We had to work for pretty had for most of our looks and rebounds, but I think the most impressive part of the whole game was we did not have a significant let off through out the game. They had a small run in the second half where they cut it to 8 by making a couple deep threes in a row but answered with our threes in shortly after. We also had probably our best bench performance to date. Prince had some big o rebounds and good shot in the paint, Hemstra played pretty good d against a team known for thier post production and had a couple good assists, and white may not have scored a whole lot but played more forward against thier bigs this game than normal. I think if we can keep this intensity up into the summit league tourney we should be in the big dance and I think we will be able to compete.
