I at the beginning of the year, someone would have told me that this team would be 19-6, crushed a PAC-12 team on the road, and have the inside track to a #2 seed I would have maybe asked them to share their beer. But, the Jackrabbits have taken huge steps forward this year, but even with the improvements I think we all knew there would be a couple steps back. This is one of those steps back, but in Sioux FAlls we will have an opportunity to forget all about those steps and learn a few new dance steps.
I know you are right, but quit trying to talk me off the cliff, we still lost to a team trying to learn how to be a D-1 program. I just don't understand after UND how we could have come out flat tonight.

If we had to lose tonight, I am glad for Louie Krogman. By all accounts he is a really good young man. His supporters from his high school days made many people hate him, much like Tim Tebow. He never claimed how great he was, it was always others, but caught the brunt of those who felt differently. As SDSU fans we often took the opportunity to twist the knife a little when it came to Mr. Krogman. In the midst of a disappointing final season congrats to him on getting a final great memory!

Tonight we were better, that's all.I wii be sitting in SF cheering for you. Good luck the balance of the season. In all candor, after the beating we took in Brookings, I didn't see this coming.
Congrats on the win, great turnout and atmosphere. The Coyotes won a hard earned victory, but if SDSU plays anywhere near where they play most of the year, we win. USD played out of their minds for about 3/4 of the game and deserve credit for that.

SDSU was 0-fer from three in the first half, that pretty much hasn't happened all year, surely USD deserves some credit for that. But it certainly isn't as simple as saying your bigs beat ours. We outrebounded you USD by 5, so I don't think that's the whole picture.

Boots had a perfect gameplan, USD shot lights out on their home floor, SDSU shot miserably, and USD still only managed to win by 4. We lost, and USD deserves credit for beating us. But we didn't play anywhere close to our best game.

Also, well done by the administration in keeping the atmosphere free from distractions like animals or carrots thrown on the court. Good luck the rest of the year.

Sorry can't wish "South Dakota's Team" luck. Hopefully they get crushed the rest of the way. Go Rabbits!

Interior play has been much better this year (especially in the ORU game), but there is still plenty of room for improvement.
Fiegen/Dykstra had 9 points and 15 boards in 54 minutes.

Gruis/Andreotti had 13 points and 20 rebounds in 60 minutes.

I guess USD bigs played better, but they didn't exactly dominate.

By Wednesday night we will have forgotten about this stinker of a game and will be getting hyped up for NDSU. Life goes on, just like it did after UND.

USD just won their superbowl. They played with fire and intensity, shooting well and getting some huge rebounds. The way we shot, there was zero margin for error in other areas - and we had plenty of errors in other areas. I guess it happens once in a while. Hopefully this is the last time we'll see that this year.

Side note: How about that "3-man weave" time-killer offense USD ran? Wow was that hard to watch! It worked out well in the end for them, but I'm afraid it set DI basketball back 50 years!

They still scored 72 points, the average team scores 68. If their time killer offense scored that much, it sounds more like our defense set us back 50 years!

It wasn't always USD's Bigs scoring on our interior defense and it seemed like we missed a lot of interior scoring chances. You are right that "dominated" isn't the right word for it, but I would say we underperformed.

There are other teams in Div. I that run the dribble weave offense, but USD used it to run more time off the clock. Very good job by Boots for doing that. Not sure what some of the SDSU players were doing at times. Lots of confusion between switching or not switching on defense.

I literally cannot stand the dribble weave offense as I haven't liked it since high school (not just because USD ran it). I feel like it's wasted motion, but SDSU defended it terribly. USD ran it to perfection and did well with it so congrats to them.

I'll say the same thing I said after the UND loss.

                    Whatever. We'll bounce back.

Maybe it will give the team the kick it needs. I'm not worried.

Yeah, we played bad and only lost by 4 points. USD shoot great and barely won. I think we will be fine. Its hard shooting in a football stadium. Dont get use to it. As they say, the son shines on a dogs butt every once in a while. USD deserved to win, Took an off night for us, but you guys won. congrats.

We got handled (don't let final score fool you) by a team ranked #273 in RealTime RPI...Do contenders do that? Should we freak out...nope. Should everybody be embarrassed...yep.

We played like absolute dirt and lost by 4. I'm not worried. This team will rebound on Saturday and Wednesday. I am not worried in the least.

I won't freak out about it. Just like I didn't freak out over the Oakland loss. I'd rather have us lay an egg in Vermillion than Sioux Falls. Now, had it been the difference in seeding, then I may have a different take on it.
