It wouldn't surprise me either if Augie would demand a return game much like USD did when we went DI and they stayed DII. Old rivalries die hard and I'm quite certain there are still plenty of people involved with Augie athletics that still view SDSU as a peer athletic program rather than one in a higher division.
I know I'll get lamblasted for saying this, but...

Play Augie every year. First game is in Brookings, second game is in the Sioux Falls Arena with split revenues.

    Benefits:
SDSU gets a nice home date every other year. Scheduling non-conference home games is a battle, Augie would draw a better crowd than DSU.
SDSU gets a chance to showcase itself in front of the crucial Sioux Falls fan segment.

    Downsides:
SDSU's ego could get bruised by losing, looking bad, or not acting like a DI school (playing a lower division "on the road").
SDSU season ticket holders would have to drive more than 20 minutes to watch an "away game."

I think there is some truth to this, but I also think with the talent those schools have there is some fear of losing. I like the idea of playing a game at Frost and then maybe in the new event center against Augie. Northern had over 4,000 against Augie in Aberdeen. Amazing how well they draw.

With the team we have now, I have no fear of losing. It's Augie.

Its money, the only lower level teams they are going to play are teams that aren't going to cost much. If they are going to do a home and home its going to be against a team that is going to improve them. Part of being D-I is not going on the road to play a D-II team, even if it is on a neutral court 20 miles away.

Dakota St. is NAIA, not NCAA D-II

I know that, I was talking about the people talking about a home and arena game with Augie

IMHO I would rather play Northern than Augie anytime. Northern has more local kids that I would like to see in college that I normally wouldn't go watch. Hannigan, Tetzlaff and with Mitch White being a freshman it would be cool to see Chad and Mitch play together before they graduate.

Nate is wearing a walking boot and is not in uniform. Hope it's just precautionary.

                          TV reports:
SDSU standout PG Nate Wolters out tonight vs. NAIA Dakota State due to an ankle sprain suffered Saturday vs. UND.

Not suprised at all that Nate isn't playing. Don't want to risk it against a NAIA school and it will give the team some minutes playing without Nate Wolters in case something happens to him or when he needs a break

DSU hanging around, 16-20 at 11 min.

DSU steals, goes coast to coast, and get fouled and FT good. Jacks up 1.

                                Prince hits 4th, 5th FT. He's 5 of 5 so far. Jacks up 3, 22-19 at 10 min.
