Hey, I meant it when I said good luck in Sioux Falls, this was only one game.
I was talking to a bud of mine who is a Bison fan b/c he has been their host at the SL Tourney the last 2 years (and will be again this year). I listed 7 or so of the Bison players and said these are all good players so why the heck have the Bison not been good this year? I blamed it on youth. SDSU and NDSU's youth is almost mirrored. Ours have just been more consistent and Wolters and Dykstra are probably just better than any two frosh or soph you have. But true, you guys have good youth.

Thats what I texted to my besty Jacks fan friend. The loss, really, meant nothing. It's just that the streak continues and we lose to a rival is what hurts. And that's okay. Great to have a rival.....even if they do take a backseat starting next year.

SDSU-NDSU is going to be like KU and K-State. KU's (SDSU) #1 rival is Mizzou (USD). But K-State (NDSU) desperately wants KU to be their #1 rival. I know all about UND-NDSU...but they're not in the same conference and likely never will be.

Like I said earlier, sdsu needs to get a couple of athletic post players, not post players who want to shoot 3's all the time.

I see the future of the summit going through the Dakotas.
I have no problem w/ anything that happened on the court (outside of the refs who seemed to want to even the count in the 2nd half). I just didn't think the chanting was real neat. But it's not a big deal. Again, it just fules the rivalry and it's great to have a heated rivalry.

I don't think the Summit goes through the Dakotas, really. Oakland and IUPUI and ORU are always going to have very good teams b/c of their coaches or history or location. SDSU and NDSU and even USD, I believe, will always have solid teams as well. There will be years where one of us Dakota's is tops and makes the dance, but, I believe the majority of success will belong to ORU and Oakland. One thing is for sure, we have earned respect already and were a very solid addition to the Summit. I just hope we all continue to improve and stay together and ,make the SL a much more respectable league.

Geography has been kind to SDSU in this regard, no doubt.

Bad news: We could have been third.

Keep the faith, folks. This, too, shall pass, and the pain tonight will feed the euphoria when it does. They're not that good. Tonight, we were that bad.
              Gloaters of the north...haha...true.

I don't think we could have made it to 3rd. And, 3rd isn't any better than 4th or 5th. We have IPFW or UMKC in the 1st round. Not much more we could ask for. I wouldn't want IUPUI (athletic, could go off or the Gloaters ).

We, again, should be in line for a 2nd round matchup w/ Oakland. A chance to play on ESPN2 in the title game. I just hope our 2 close contests w/ OU inspire more fans to show up than the last time we played them in round 2.

We are lucky to have a couple of heated rivals. I hope ppl of SD continue to follow the SL and learn about other programs and we develop rivalries w/ ORU, OU, IPFW, IUPUI, etc.

I think the Summit League is set up for significant future success, with Oakland, ORU, IUPUI, SDSU, SDSU, NDSU, UMKC, and USD--and I think WIU will eventually become a tough out--Molinari has a rep as a really good coach.

Frankly, the Horizon and the Valley could start hearing footsteps in the next couple of years . . .

If we rivaled the Horizon or Valley I would be thrilled. I agree that Molinari will have WIU at least more at the level of respectability than they were this year. And USD will have more years like last year (where they were probably better than us) than this year.

I agree. Don't forget about IPFW. I think they will turn into a pretty solid team with Fife at the helm.

I don't think ORU and Oakland fans have an appreciation for what the Dakota schools can do yet. I can certainly appreciate their tradition and success. If the Summit can hold together and be stable for 5 years, look out.

I thought I included them but my subconscious must have kicked in. I hate them, you know.

Our problem is that we don't have a point guard and that kills us on the road and during close games. We can beat anybody though when we are solid with the ball and play with an edge on defense. Which we did tonight, probably better than any game I've watched.

I think SDSU is close to having a really great team, just need bruiser in the paint or a guy like Wright that can change a game with his athleticism. The pieces are there. If Saul can find a pg we both will be tough next year. Good luck in SF jacks.

Give SDSU a force inside, and give NDSU a true point guard, and you're talking about two really, really good basketball teams and at least two EPIC games next year.

I think you better drop some respect for your coach, he let the players quit, there was a point with 5 minutes or so left that they didn't even run after the ball.

And who in the hell fouls a player with 1 second left on the shot clock?? I watched Nagy after that and he didn't say anything to the kid that did it.

SDSU was not prepared at all for this game, that is all on the coaching

Too much complaining about the NDSU fans.

Too many excuses about the SDSU players.

                                Completely.

                                Unacceptable.

                                Performance.

                                Period.

Shoot 15 percent for a half? Sixth-graders can do that. Give up two runs of more at least 17-0? A combined 11 points and five rebounds from the seniors? (Do I feel bad they haven't beat NDSU in their careers? Those numbers make it tough to muster much sympathy.) Only 22 points in 20 minutes to start the game? That's just pathetic. PATHETIC! And I could go on. You have to wonder if they're beat before they even take the court against NDSU. Time to man up and get over that crap. Try and muster up a little pride and heart, for Christ's sake.
