    Re: ORU

I've been known to be in Dale's corner in the past and I am again today. I ask again why was he sitting on the bench the final 10 minutes of the game? He plays with the most energy and passion of all of our players. Last night he was playing a very good game, especially defensively but yet there he sat. Nagy obviously wants Chad to be a great player and I think he will be a very good and I am happy to have him. Nagy continually praises and comments on Chad in his post game comments and rarely if ever mentions Dale. He constantly talks about his older guys needing to be leaders but he must only be talking about Clint. In Dale's case, it is hard to be a leader when your coach has no faith or trust in you.

    Dale: 20 min 5 pts 3 reb 3 assists
    Chad: 20 min 0 pts 1 reb 0 assists

    Hmmm!

      Re: ORU

A couple of things that seem to happen in home losses:

      1. It seems the other teams shoots like its their home gym...or better. We get outshot badly.

      2. Some obvious defensive letdowns.

      3. Inability to convert from the free throw line.

Beats me. The free throws, though, drive me nuts. I mean INSANE!
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!

I'm not in anybody's corner, but quoting the game stats last night, doesn't objectively measure any two players. It looks to me like you have a personal ax to grind here.

Here are the season stats up to this weekend:
Minutes Avg. FG % avg 3 pt % Avg Ft % Avg Reb Avg Points Avg
        Moss 22.6 52.6 30.8 58.5 2.9 6.8
        White 20.9 55.2 46.0 64.3 4.1 9.2

I would say 20 min for each is a pretty objective average in any particular game, and it is hard to find fault with who the coaches are playing at any given time.

Having said that, Chad White did not have a good game last night, but there have been other games where Dale hasn't had such a good game either. Both are good players and both are helping the team equally.

For being an unpaid "executive advisor' ,Sean Sutton seemed to have a lot of input into the coaching during the game. He's probably going to have to do this for awhile and keep out of trouble before anyone else will hire him again.

Both games last night were embarrassing.

The men didn't deserve to win last night with that pitiful display from the FT line.

And, to the fellows behind me that were screaming at the refs from the beginning of the women's game to the end of the mens game, thanks for ruining my friends first Jackrabbit experience.

This is no aberration, this has occured in every game this year as backed up by these stats.......http://web1.ncaa.org/stats/StatsSrv/ranksummary...every high rank number from 205 to 317 (3 pt FG defense ...336 ranked in div 1)pertains to defense(or lack of,i should say)

People were questioning Nagging when, during the wins, he was still critical of the team. I think those numbers show us why he was.

If you would care to give a general area as to where you were sitting then maybe it might help send a message. There were some pretty bad calls last night and I can say that I let them hear it. Kept it classy but yelled nevertheless.

Why should he be in the last 10:00? When they needed Dale in the game he had to sit because of foul trouble. Not to talk down on a kid, but, he's a liability on the offensive end of the floor unless he is rebounding the ball and getting putbacks. Lets be honest that hasn't been the case most of the year if you are averaging 3 RPG. SDSU needed people in the game the final 10:00 that could score or atleast have to be guarded. ORU absolutely begged Dale to shoot jumpers when he was in the game. They sagged off him and were more than willing to give him open looks and jumpers. Chad is a threat to score and make shots, you have to guard him. You can't sag off Chad to help on a Nate Wolters drives like you can with Dale in the game. I wouldn't say that Nagy has no faith or trust in Dale, it was simply not a situation where Dale was the best option to have on the floor due to the game circumstances.

You could also quote the stats for the year, which might be a little more telling on who should be playing more or why there is so much split time. Not a whole lot of difference between the two in a few of the stats, however, I think Chad is definitely the bigger threat offensively.

                    Chad White: 21.1 MPG, 55% FG, 46% 3FG, 4.1 RPG
                    Dale Moss: 22.6 MPG, 52% FG, 30% 3FG, 3.3 RPG

Dale is a much better defender than Chad at this point in their careers. Chad still has the tendency to get a little lost defensively, but that is a problem a few guys have this year. I would venture to guess that if SDSU would have been up the majority of the game like ORU was, we would have seen Dale on the floor because of his defense, but obviously that was not the case last evening. As I said, we needed people on the floor that have the ability to get rolling offensively.

The non-call as time expired in the 1st half when Wolters got chop-blocked out of bounds had to have been one of the worst.

Agreed. Everyone knew Dale wasn't going to be an offensive threat in the 2nd half when he took 2 dribbles from the 3 point line and threw up a floater that barely hit the backboard when he could have taken it strong to the hoop for 2 and probably a chance at a FT. If he is aggressive and takes it hard to the hole, he would have probably been in the game.

i think most colleges have student behind the hoop, i think they could make the switch still this year, fill in with students. Then next year keep students behind the opposing bench and im the center of the court and behind the baskets and then put some seats in behind the jacks bench, those seats would be primo.... i think you need to keep some students in the the current area.

If Nate Wolters isn't first team all Summit then we need to drug test those who vote. Unreal. Kid simply does what he wants. Will, easily, be the points and assists leader when it's all said and done. Gophers missed out on this one.
Guys, this performance by ORU is totally uncharacteristic (up to now, but we hope things are changing). The team totally responded to the beat down by the ref at NDSU. You guys happened to be the next team in the way.

Wolters is phenomenal and my guess is that he could do this any night he wanted. Last night he noticed that other things were not working and he better pick up the slack. He darn near did it too.

I like his attitude. He is very unassuming and lets his play do the talking. In that fashion he is a very eloquent orator. I enjoyed watching him play already when the team was in Winnipeg in the summer. It was apparent then where he was going this year.

You guys have a team to be reckoned with. We were just unconscious last night making shots and made clutch shots even when hands were in our faces at the end of the game.

You are going to beat a lot of Summit League teams this year and will probably be in the thick of a fight for second place.
