        Re: ORU

If you were there, you saw what I saw. An unbelievable display of 3 point shooting!! Sure, as Coach Nagy said in his post game interview, "we could have sat in a zone and defended better than 82% from the 3 point line", but I think our defense was pretty good tonight. Say what you want, they hit some BIG 3's with hands in their faces, with the shot clock about to expire. I was shocked we were still in the game as late as we were. What a heart breaking loss. Hope we can rebound and get two on the road next week.

              14 of 17...or was it 15-18? I can't remember now...

              Un-be-lieveable.

I could understand that they were hitting the open 3's in the first half, but in the second half we were in their face on most if not all of the 3's.

Free throw shooting is horrendous. People around me kept sighing at every miss and I have already come to grips that unless Grif or Wolters (and sometimes, maybe Sarg) is on the line, you might as well accept the fact that it's probably going to be a miss.

Also, I wonder how close ORU was tonight to setting a new DI record for overall 3pt %....

With exception of the last two 3-pointers, I don't believe we were in their face the whole night, to be honest with you. We sank and helped on the inside which left their shooters open. I'm not saying this was a bad idea, as they came in shooting only 34% from beyond the arc. If they did that tonight, we win this game. With that said, if my team and I had hit 12/15 on threes so far in the game, finally putting a hand in my face on the last couple shots is not going to change my confidence. They couldn't go out and make 14 of 17 again without defense. What a rediculous stat.

Free throws are hard to watch. You hit it right on the head.

We really need these next 2 on the road and hopefully we continue to play well away from Frost.

                      Re: ORU

My roommate who was at the game had these thoughts:

Dumbfounded at the ORU 3 point shooting.

"Nate Wolters is the best basketball player I have ever watched in person"

                      Griff is a warrior.

Dykstra and Feigen are over matched on the boards and inside.

                        Re: ORU

Looks like I was right. ORU wanted it more.

And 14-17 from the arc (most WIDE OPEN) is nearly impossible to overcome.

If Nate Wolters isn't first team all Summit then we need to drug test those who vote. Unreal. Kid simply does what he wants. Will, easily, be the points and assists leader when it's all said and done. Gophers missed out on this one.

Wolters is a great player. Too bad he chose to play at SDSU. The problem is you need more than 1 good player to be a good basketball team.

ORU shot 82% from the arc in an 8 pt game. I've seen that before. It is called getting "Millered". As in Ryan Miller, NSU.
