I spoke to an assistant coach from Blaine, MN this weekend. He said that Kline is a good kid, good athlete, and likes SDSU. He did say that there is another Asst Coach on Blaine's staff who played for the Bison and is in Kline's ear about NDSU quite a bit, and is doing what he can to shred SDSU and Brookings. Which is funny, because we all know that Fargo is the beacon of light in the upper midwest.

So the rivals page must have it wrong for TJ Lally's visit to USD. Good to hear that he making a visit to Brookings.

I have a good feeling that Kline will end up at SDSU. He had reported earlier to GopherHole that SDSU was his favorite and to be honest, we might be the only DI school offering him. Also, his teammate from last year Dijon Starr plays for the Jacks.

The interesting thing will be to see if he ends up sticking at QB or moving to WR or S. I kind of picture him as a Corey Jeske type player in that he will be a backup QB for his first couple years but if Sumner is as good as we all hope, Kline will switch positions so we can get him on the field.

TV tweeted that the latest SDSU verbal Cam Jones in tight with Kline and that should help SDSU.

This lineup of commits looks outstanding!!! We have locked up some very good skill positions.

COMMITTED (12) (Thanks Mitchell for working the list!)

              SCHOLARSHIP (10)
              RB - Reggie Gandy, 5'10" 185, MN Minneapolis-Delasalle, http://bit.ly/h3O5jp
              Offers: NDSU, UND, UNI
              TE - Chad Strehlow, 6'4" 220, WI Suring, http://bit.ly/e2N1Pe
              TE - Cameron Jones 6'6" 230, MN Burnsville, http://bit.ly/g6MXYS
OT -Luke Marks, 6'5" 255, MN Mendota Heights - St Thomas Acad, http://bit.ly/i9r9XS
              Offers: Illinois St
              G - Dylan Seiter, 6'3" 265, WI Sun Pairie, http://www.ncsasports.org/college-re...s/dylan-seiter
              LB - Brandon Mohr, 6'0" 220, SD Sioux Falls - Washington, http://bit.ly/a8MAdQ
              Offers: USD, UND
              LB - Ben Muff**, 6'1" 197, NE Crete, http://bit.ly/aJ9eQT / http://bit.ly/c80O6Q
              Offers: NDSU
              CB - JeRyan Butler**, 5'10, 170, AZ Tempe-Marcos De Niza, http://bit.ly/hTB0AE
              Offers: San Diego St
              DB -Jimmie Forsythe**, 5'11" 185, NE Omaha-Burke, http://bit.ly/fMrgOF
              Offers: USD
              S - Jake Gentile, 6'1" 190, IA Council Bluffs-St Albert, http://bit.ly/ceppTF

              PREFERRED WALK-ONS (2)
              WR - Trevor Sikkink, 6'1" 200, SD Castlewood, http://bit.ly/bNgsWD
              S - Drew Kreutzfeldt, 5'11" 185, SD Chester, http://bit.ly/iivN9J

The question I have is we have only 1 offensive lineman commit, and according to the first page list - only 5 offers out to off/def linemen. 3 of those linemen are from AZ, 1 from IL, and 1 from NE. Is this going to be a weak point of this signing period? I hope we have a few hidden gems out there. Fortunately, we got a few studs in the last couple of years.

In addition, we have 12 commits. Are we still limited to 20 scholarships this year? I can't remember having this many locked up 3 weeks out from signing day before.

We actually have 2 offensive lineman commits.

Quote from Terry V. about the number of recruits on his weekly chat yesterday: "Should be in the range of 20 and roughly one at every spot on the field. I think they're about halfway there right now."

There are two offensive line commits listed above, and with a fairly large number of quality young offensive linemen on the team right now, i wouldn't be surprised if that is all we see this year.

Has anyone heard if any of the other prospects from Arizona Scottsdale Chapparal have committed elsewhere or plan to visit SDSU? We were looking at a handful of players from there, and they all seemed talented and highly recruited, so I was hoping we would land a couple.

We have 4 offers out to Chaparal players:

                      DT Justin Jackson
                      MLB Kyle Combs
                      OLB Hunter Gregg
                      S Colby Targun

Jackson is in on a visit this weekend. I'm not sure if we still have an offer out to Combs since we already have a MLB signed in Mohr and we are also recruiting a MLB out of Illinois (Lally).

Haven't heard anything about Gregg or Targun. I think the latter would be a good signing, as he has an offer from Kent St.

The position I'm really interested in is DE. Right now we have 3 seniors and 3 R-Freshman so after next year the position will be really thin. It would be nice to land either of the two we have offers out to:

                      DE -J.R. Plote**, 6'3" 235, AZ Phoenix - Mountian Pointe, http://bit.ly/ajftax
Offer from Air Force, New Mexico St
                      DE David Sutton, 6'4" 245, NE Lincoln-Southeast, http://bit.ly/eJDacJ
                      Offer from Ohio

Wouldn't be surprised to see a JUCO DE sign.

I think the total 63 is the magic number and if we have to sign 30 to get to that number then that is what will happen. If you recall Coach Stig sensed some problems with commitment amongst the existing scholarship holders and some might not be back next fall.

I agree I like the talent that we are offering. Lets hope the harsh winters do not take a toll on the Arizona Kids. Those who want to be here will adjust, just like Jimmy Rogers did.

It looks like they'll be able to fill in the spots nicely. I'd like to see a QB signed and some beef up front on the defensive line. It all starts up front.

Over the last couple of years we have recruited the Kansas City area very well with some nice additions to the Jacks. We haven't heard much this year about any KC kids. I cannot help but think that we will sign someone this year out of that area.

Not sure the reason, but it seems like we never hear about the KC players until signing day. Maybe that area just isn't very good at releasing recruiting info?

Anyone else think Cam Jones would make one heck of a Defensive End? At 6'6" 230 and enough athleticism to play QB in high school, if he has a motor and put on 20+ lbs, he could be dominate at that position.
