Give me a reason why Weeeeber would "hand us our asses"? Are they that mush superior to the U of Minnesota, who we outplayed?

Agreed. A good rule to follow is act on here like you would if you were having the same discussion w/ the same poster, in person.

No you didn't but someone else cleared it up for you. It is a fun fact (most wins this decade)!

Second, if you will dissect the pronouns a bit, you might read his response as saying that the Weebs would kick the arse of "your" (meaning the Mo Valley's) four-loss team, Northern Iowa.

But I could be wrong ... on one or both.

And by the way, who's this "lakesbison" guy? Ain't me -- we have no love for the bison, either.
I had a smiley face at the end of my post so hopefully everyone knew I was joking. He was actually saying Weebs was better than SDSU, if I read it properly. We will have to have a different opinion on that one (I also don't think they would beat UNI, even if Grace is the QB).

I believe it was GrizMonster that made the first post in the thread and would like to thank that individual for the classy post. I am sorry it was not reciprocated immediately.

It is past my bedtime and when I am tired I tend to get cranky; or dare I say rude.

Great post. And to think I expected to find a football discussion in this thread....

            My bad.

Agreed. GrizMonster deserved a more friendly reception. Smack belongs elsewhere and there's also a thread to discuss the upcoming game in detail. So, belated congrats to Montana for dominating the Big Sky and again making the playoffs.

If you want my personal opinion many Griz boosters to this board deserved a bit more hospitable welcome than they got . . .

Weber Out played Wyoming and Colorado State and lost both games by less than 7 points Colorado State scored a TD in the last minute to beat Weber. I think Colorado State would beat the mighty GOPHERS! I guess i will witness 1st hand how mighty of a team you have on saturday. But i think you will be on the short end of the stick tho. Game on!

Its a little bit like the way some of us respond to fans of the other DI program in SD. Sometimes its hard to let the past go. Especially when those causing the indiscretions aren't willing to admit any fault.

That said, the fans had nothing to do with the activity of the administration is either situation and don't deserve to be treated with disrespect.

Now, if you think you can go on the Montana board and start saying things like "the Griz will come up short" or "what makes you think you can beat the Griz" or ....... you would get a chilly reception as well.

Note, I am well aware that the poster who started this thread did so in a friendly manner and did not get a friendly initial response. That I will admit. However, I have no more love for the Griz than any other opponent and quite honestly want to see us win this weekend and badly as ever. Sometimes emotions can override logic. Rudeness is a poor trait and some of us need to work on that.

I don't want to put down Colorado State, since I have some ties to the school, but I have been to three of their games this year and I was at the Gopher game. CSU is struggling. Their defense can't stop anybody. They wouldn't be within 14 points of the gophers. Bottom line is, this game isn't about what weber did at CSU or wyoming, or what we did at Minnesota. I'm expecting a close game, should be a good watch.

Byron was making headlines as an eighth-grade basketballer in St. Lawrence, out by Miller. More so in high school -- until SDS hired his dad to come work in maintenance or something like that at the college, and of course bring his son along for a year of HS basketball before he joined the Jacks.

                          Just sayin'
I am old enough to remember Byron Luke and his younger brother Gene. How do you know that their father did not hear or read about the job at SDSU and drove down Highway 14 to Brookings and applied. You are trying to besmirch the memory of Reuben "Jack" Frost and I for one take offense at that. If some wrong doing was going on it would have to had to involve Harold White at Brookings High School and some booster, but I have never heard any of that cockeyed bull. As I recall Byron Luke was not that big of a flash at SDSU. Byron was a flash in the 1952 State Tourney and very consistent for the Brookings Bobcats but at SDSU he was so -so. Virg Riley who you mentioned was more of a player at SDSU, and he came from Dell Rapids

St Lawarence was a dying town in the 1950's and has very little left to show for now so no doubt Mr. Luke was out of a job and came looking to SDSU looking for work on his own. His son's bb talents in my opinion had nothing to do with his job at SDSU. I believe Mr. Luke (Bryon's father)retired from SDSU and the family stayed in Brookings for a number of years after the sons completed their education. This is crap you are bringing up because it's not true.

I respect U Of Montana. I traveled to Missioula in 1988 and 1993 when SDSU played. Its a beautiful place to live no doubt. I do think Montana has treated SDSU like crap when we applied for membership in the Big Sky and with scheduling games. I do hope we win on Saturday.

Heh. I haven't found a thread yet about the upcoming football game that hasn't gone all crazy.

Have friends that live in Missoula (they both graduated from SDSU, he's in grad school at UM) they've informed me they'll be cheering for SDSU this weekend.

Obviously, the killler part in this story is I have a free place to crash for the game, but I won't be leaving Brookings.

Should be a marine mammal of your choosing of a game.
