This is true, as the few Ohio guys SDSU has had on the roster were often alums offspring or relatives to alums. Your right Ohio has a lot of talent, and its a matter of establishing a network of coaches, former players and alums.

Have some of the "pipelines" dried up, or have we lost are connections to some of them? It seemed in the past we would be recruiting 6-10 in St. Louis and Kansas City, and 6 or so in Texas yet I've heard very little about recruits this year from those two areas.... It seems we are hitting Nebraska harder then we have in the past, I think some of that may have to do with rumors that the Nebraska walk-on program is going to be cut back... (beliefs are that only are 10 will be offered preferred walkons this year)..... We are hitting Arizona really hard this year, which I like....

I wouldn't doubt that we are still hitting up the Kansas City metro area, but for some reason we never hear about those recruits until signing day.
I would guess we're more involved in Nebraska because Iowa is down this year and because new DL coach, Clint Brown, is a Nebraska Alum and coached in the state.

found another one.... is visiting next week... announced visit after visiting South Illinois, is visiting Montana this week
ESPN has Poehls at 2 stars and a 74 rating.

Poehls is a big strong player who has the size to play tackle. At this stage of his career he is a better run blocker but displays an understanding of pass protection. May eventually move to guard but would begin his career at right tackle. Shows flexibility in his stance with a good flat back coming off the ball. Can move down defenders off the line of scrimmage and works to finish blocks. Flashes the ability to block shaded defenders and should be able to handle short trap responsibilities. Because we have some concerns regarding agility and foot quickness, blocking active 2nd level defenders could be a challenge. This will carry over to pass protection. Flashes quick set ability but inconsistent bending and playing flat footed. Displays the ability to stay in front of defenders, handle change of direction moves and pick up stunts. Is aggressive and tough with better then average explosion and playing strength. Poehls' shows the run block ability we like to see, however his athletic skills and footwork will take time to develop. A red shirt year is recommended with additional time on the practice field. This will lead to eventual playing time, maybe at guard. A possible two year starter at the major level of competition later in is career.

If we receive a verbal from one of the Arizona kids today we should hear about it tonight... the guy that runs the arizona board for scout is on top of things and post verbals as fast as he hears about them.

Anybody on campus hear or see anything?

R.J. McGill was extended an offer over the weekend http://hsarizona.scout.com/a.z?s=222...=1&nid=4262490

Brenden Murphy was also extended an offer over the weekend http://jcfootball.scout.com/a.z?s=87...=1&nid=4346956

If you look at their profiles it shows whether the player has been offered or not.

Terry is reporting two verbals from this weekend. Hasn't given names yet. He's deciding whether to report tonight or wait till morning.
