Re: SDSU and USD Battle for the Golden Pheasant
Turning the attendance argument around . . .
Is it time to start talking seriously about expanding Coughlin-Alumni Stadium to the 18-20,000 seat level? I mean, if we get 16K for what some would argue will be our second-best rival, how many when our "true rival" comes back onto the schedule?
(Yeah, I know I'm throwing a fire-bomb here, but I just couldn't resist )
And, since Frost's capacity is only 6500 nowadays, we need to start planning that 10-12,000 seat on-campus basketball arena to accommodate all those rivalry games! Hey, maybe we bump it up to 15-16k seating and share the engineering/design costs 50/50 with Sioux Falls . . . Two Arenas for the Price of One!
(Tongue is in cheek, mostly, folks. I'm just in a good mood. Don't freak out.)
