Treachery, Treason. Looting. Plundering. Haven't you seen images of logs and ships burning that the players are posting? This is the year of the Pirate. Can't wait for the game theme during Halloween week.

Note: pirates don't have anything to actually do with what they're posting. No doubt the JFPA pirate themed helmet would look cool though.

also, I know there is another perspective about this, BUT all of us are also acting like he was doing volunteer work when he was getting paid over 100K a year. what % of people in the world ever make over 100K a year. and he was doing that at a place that he said he loved with people who he apparently admired and cared about very much

I understand he got a big raise. but he is also moving his family a long way away, away from any family. he is moving away from a place and people who have cared for him, raised him, and loved him for a VERY VERY LONG time. he is moving away from a place where he was / is very special to a place where he is just the next guy in line

and the ONLY reason anyone can offer for him going is more money. i sure cannot think of any other reason. opportunity wise, he definitely would have kept the Jacks at the very top and more and better opportunities were DEFINITELY going to come

for a lot of you fine- you say 100k or 300k is decent money but he got a LOT more than that and you dont turn that down. well in my mind any time you do anything and the ONLY reason is money you are opeining the door to plenty of trouble. money is nice it is helpful but if money is your number one motivator you got a problem
You honestly can’t see how this would potentially be a stepping stone to something bigger for him? If he stays at SDSU for a couple more years and stays at the top of a division that people say is watered down and wins a couple a more championships where does that put him at on the prospect list? Are ACC/SEC/Big Ten schools calling for their head coaching job? Maybe but probably not. Now if he goes out there and wins for a few years get maybe wins 9-10 games a year maybe get ranked and make the CFP. Those conferences will come calling. Now his resume would show he won at his Alma mater where he was for over 15 years and worked his way up from player to ga to eventually head coach and won 2 titles while here and then spent lets say 5 years at WSU goes 40-20 with some time spent ranked and has a trip to the CFP as the G6 rep. You don’t think that resume looks better than 20 years at your Alma mater and 4 championships at a “lower” level.

      • Jimmy was never going to be Stig. He is too young and we assumed/hoped to be to good of a coach to stay at this level for 20 years. He was always going to leave and honestly if he didn’t that probably means we aren’t winning championships and no one would be happy with that either. Also hate to break it to you but if Jackson comes in and wins he also won’t here very long and if/when he leaves for a head coach position and a new school he will probably do the same thing.

Player parents would know how it went down. Where do you think all the leaks were coming from the morning of the 28th reporting the Rogers was leaving and taking a bunch of players with him?

I don't know about TREACHERY. More like SKULLDUGGERY but if you paint with a broad brush, maybe TREACHERY.

I'd like to see those pictures.

How about angry Jack logo with an eye patch?

Shortly after the Wilde news came out on Saturday morning, a player's mom post on Facebook that people should be ready and that the coaching staff were all leaving. I'd say the rumors are true.

              • I greatly appreciate the job that Jimmy Rogers did as an assistant and head coach for the Jackrabbits. I don't like the hypocrisy and cherry-picking of players and staff that he exercised when he left. Although Stig left the program in better shape than what he got, that's obviously expecting too much from most of today's coaches. It's time to look ahead. Dan Jackson is a great replacement. I'm excited that the Jacks were able to land him. I don't expect him to stay for 10 or 15 years. Hopefully, he'll be successful and maybe move up the coaching chain in a few years. And hopefully he won't trash the program when he leaves.
                This space for lease.

I don't think anyone has any reason to be mad at Roger's for leaving. If he is successful in getting that school to 6 wins and a Bowl game the next two seasons, I'd expect he will be leaving Pullman 2 or 3 years after arriving. There is no loyalty there, this is a stepping stone job and good for him. I wish him well. In all honesty, same with the older players who have two rings whether they followed Roger's to WSU or ended up elsewhere, I wish them all well and hope they have a lot of success, grab some NIL money, enjoy a year at a G5 school.

The issue for many is the openly trying to recruit as much young talent as he could before getting out the door. In Stig's interview he referenced talking to a freshman who was confused and hurt by the situation. It sounded like the young man was being pushed to enter the portal by the departing staff. That's not something Lujan did on his way out as an OC going to a Big 10 school, and he could have. I get that Jimmy took a crappy job, one that pays well though a million less than Dickert. WSU is a school and athletic dept in transition with an unknown future. I get the staff wanting to win, but WSU does have players who didn't leave. Why have your staff targeting kids and seemingly trying to manipulate them into leaving? That leaves a bit of a sour taste in how this all has gone down.

Saw a report today that they lost 36 to the portal, the most in all of FBS.

Ok parents twitter posts. Doubt they have all the details of contracts and what not.

Treachery as in being a traitor. Like a bodyguard attacking the person they are supposed to stop others from attacking. Not just looting and plundering.

When I go to the field to work I always take extra parts with me. I hope I don't have to use them, but if I do, I have them "just in case". I suspect some of the players leaving here and going to WSU are going to be "extra parts". JMO

Then I guess its too bad we spent 100M on facilities, when we could have spent it on coaches salaries and NIL

You would be seeing this incorrectly then. Facilities and NIL aid in recruiting. Coaches recruit and develop players. They form a relationship with the players. For the players the coach can be more important than the school. Not that the school is unimportant. A coach that moves from Ohio St to Northwestern might not be able to pull players with. On the other hand, a coach that moves from Northwestern to Ohio St can pull staff and players along.

Coaches at FBS schools with large collectives no longer have to be good recruiters or developer of players. They can just buy developed players from programs that they can offer more money to.
