If it's the university making the determination, I'm not sure that exclusionary message is what we want to send to recruits either.
Here's some comments from a JFPA member about how this topic might be looked at. http://www.x.com/ThatFritzDude/statu...30553560752148 Not sure who would be included in making those decisions down the road. I think these comments were more about involvement in JFPA.

Maybe donating to JFPA/collective would be one factor

If it's a players' reunion organized by former players the former players are certainly free to invite whoever they want. But if it's University programming what obligation does the university have to former students, especially those who leave for other university athletic programs? I think the message it sends to recruits is that you're free to quit on SDSU and SDSU is free to quit on you. If Tucker Large wants to be in a hall of fame or recognized at his Aalma mater, he's chosen WSU as his alma mater.

He spent multiple years here. Again, I'm disappointed he left, but do you extend that "free to quit" rationale to players in the portal who had prior offers to come here but chose to attend other schools?

I have no idea what they were being told to get them there, but Large made plays and played through some injuries for the Jacks. Will I be focusing on him or any of the other former players who transferred to WSU? Not really, and I definitely won't focus on them nearly as much as the ones who stayed or are transferring in.

Will you give players who opted to attend other universities a second chance to attend SDSU if they enter the portal?

                    100% agree.

Justin was one I thought the Jacks would consider before he finally committed to Augie. This is all great, but now we are doing the same thing and offering kids who had made a commitment to a program at a lower level so are we any better?

Yes, we saved him from the liberal hell hole that is Augustana.

No disagreement from me. I had the same thought as I was seeing the coaches follow already verballed (to other schools) individuals. I viewed it as DJ & co being forced into this position. We've certainly seen recruits flipped to FBS schools in prior years. It's like they say I guess, it ain't over until signing day.

I mean I am not happy we are in this situation if that is what you are asking?

No, I realize the new coaching staff is in a terrible situation based on the prior coaching staff absolutely decimating our 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes. The FCS caliber players have made commitments in the 2025 class and we are left trying to find diamonds in the rough at the D2 level, Jucos or FBS players that were walkons or way down the depth charts. They are surely moving to the 2026 class pretty quickly after finding sufficient depth for the 2025 team.
