I want to believe it, but only time will tell if we can overcome all the losses without surrendering any ground for this year. but in the long run, I believe the coaching staff could be better than it has been in a while

as far as my comment, that discussion has more recently focused on the basketball players, and the idea that players commit to a coach not a school or a program. some absolutely have the coach as the biggest part of the equation, but that is not the case for all players. maybe I am wrong, but I am guessing that is the case for a certain 3 athletes from De Smet

as for recruiting in general, I do think we are already seeing the proof of Coach Jackson's top notch recruiting ability

What are your thoughts on potential differences in football versus basketball coaches' "systems"?

For instance, I'm curious about the interplay among coordinators in football that isn't as prevalent in basketball. If those differences are valid, one would expect that a basketball coach's system, and players' congruence with it, may contribute to greater susceptibility to try to "follow" that coach.

Looks like another big recruiting weekend tied into the Spring Game. Lots of recruits posting visit and offer tweets late this afternoon.

Jacks get a big commit from SF Washington WR Jhace Woods. Latest in the string of the best WR's in South Dakota to be Jacks. Had offers from NDSU and many other FCS schools. Looks like he was being recruited by Iowa and Washington State.

This is big. USD also had more starters enter the portal today. I really thought they'd take another step forward next year but looking like the opposite is happening down south.

USD was returning 4 starters on what was going to be one of the top OL's in FCS. 3 of them have hit the portal in the last month. Bouman is a good QB, but mobility isn't one of his strengths. That may be tested this fall.

Bouman might want to reconsider as his OL has been stripped and his receiving core is changing. The depth will be tested.
