I wasnt able to watch the 2nd half as close since at the bar eith friends. The first half i recall 2 or 3 what looked like obvious holds that would have been sacks. Like it seemed obvious to me like i cheered since i assumed it would have been called. I was wrong.

I still don't understand why a couple screens to Johnson or Davis (or even Kraft weren't called), as they could've limited grounding potential with quicker passes.
I can excuse a false start or two on the road, but a false start on the center in three consecutive games is concerning

Western Illinois- 17-33, 188 yards and 1-TD with 0- INT's
USD- 12-20, 136 yards with 1-TD and 1-INT
NDSU- 16-21, 152 yards without a TD or an INT
UND- 15-20, 197 yards with 3-TD's and 0-INT's
Indiania State- 22-28, 233 yards with 3-TD's and 0-INT's
UNI- 21-34, 263 yards, 1-TD and 1-INT
He did not play bad enough to lose any games for SDSU.
Against Missouri State, Indiania State and UND; he put up great numbers that will win you games.
In the games against Western Illinois, USD, NDSU and UNI; he put up numbers that will not lose the game but they will not win the game either.
I think he can lead this team to Frisco but he might need a healthy Davis and the defense to keep playing solid and creating TO's.

Rave: The INTs by the safeties were athletic plays that helped ensure the Jacks escaped with a victory.
Rave: Of course, I always enjoy Jacks victories, but I especially relish victories against FCS teams littered with FBS transfers, and UNI has a handful of FBS transfers who are starters at the skill positions. I'm assuming Day will again be their QB, and I look forward to hopefully helping to exorcise the UNI Hobo Day demon next Oct. when he and UNI visit Brookings.
Rant: The Jacks' pass defense baffled me. I can only hope those coverages were utilized with the assumption that UNI's WR speed, especially on 'dome's turf, and Day's passing prowess merited "loose" coverage. I think a couple of Schnee's receptions between the hashes also illustrated just how effectively Bock patrols that zone
Random question -- did either of the Kuslers play a down on defense?
I figured we might see one or both get a few snaps, but I think they only played on special teams.Last edited by jakejc795; 11-06-2022, 10:18 AM.

He also has 15 fewer attempts than Shelley, 41 fewer attempts than Baker, and 18 fewer attempts than Schuster (despite each playing in only 9 games).
Do I believe the Jacks airing it out would get Gronowski nearly as many yards as Day? Probably not, and the Jacks have a considerably different offensive scheme than the Panthers, partially because they have a RB duo as adept as Davis and Johnson.
I also don't necessarily believe Day "lost the Panthers the game" by tossing two INTs. The Jacks made great plays on those deflected passes, but one reason the Panthers had to pass is that their RBs were generally not as effective as the Jacks'

This board has a guideline discouraging personal attacks on a poster. Criticizing a post is okay. It’s a good guideline.
So a poster can write some terrible stuff about an athlete and people can disagree with the post but we should not add the final “and you’re an idiot for thinking that way” or words having a similar intent.
i know- the athletes are D1 athletes with most having significant financial assistance because they play a sport and therefore they can take some criticism. Yada yada yada.
But when I read a couple of posters’ thoughts on a tremendous athlete and, by all accounts, a good teammate and leader, and I disagree with the post, guess what I’m thinking about the poster but not writing.
(And now I’m wondering how many — not whether —readers of this post just added ‘JackJD is an idiot.’)
Gronowski is da man! And empirical evidence proves it.
A nine-game win streak in the MoValley. It’s another great day to be a Jackrabbit.

Oladokun's numbers were similar to what Day's will probably end up being (including playoffs). That's not to say Gronowski has stifled Kraft. It's just that he and Oladokun have different skillsets.

Jakejc795- my post was not directed at you. I was just thinking aloud that there are times I’d love to ignore the guideline and tell a poster what I’m really thinking when they criticize my quarterback.
Now, this is a hilarious Twitter observation by Zach Borg, sports guy with DakotaNewsNow. Video from Jack Lido.
