Boy, just a look at #23 tells me there are all kinds of things wrong with this poll.

Idaho is down 41-26 with 4 minutes left to the UC Davis. Assuming the score holds, Idaho will be 6-4. Idaho's one *good* win was 30-23 over Montana. Montana is 7-3 after today's victory with 0 *good* wins. Their starting quarterback was hurt in the 1st half and ended up on crutches. It will be interesting to see how things play out with the playoff selections assuming Montana loses to Montana State next week. Youngstown state will be another one of those 7 win teams with 0 *good* wins assuming they beat Southern Illinois next week. good win = then ranked or currently ranked victory

Debating whether I'd rather have UC-Davis defeat Sac State or concede #1 seed due to pathway that'd establish for Jacks. Conventional wisdom seems to lean toward Bison being #4 seed

Davis should be ranked after their win today against he Fighting Ecks, which would give the Jacks another win against a ranked team.

How concerned would you be that Bison fans would outnumber Jacks fans for potential semifinal game in Brookings?

I’m not. If there’s one game people are going to come out for in the cold it’s going to be NDSU.

May your optimism not be misplaced.

First Bank and Larson could team up to "Bank On" anti-Bison DJD winterization

A couple of years ago I would have thought we’d get outnumbered, but not anymore. If 8,000+ showed up yesterday you’d have to think there would be 12,000+ Jacks fans (in similar weather) for an NDSU semifinal. Lots more, if it’s one of those sunny and 40 December days.

The Big Sky is admittedly top-heavy...but it's also slightly more bottom-heavy than the Valley:

                        173 Northern Arizona
                        179 Portland State
                        184 Eastern Washington
                        212 Northern Colorado
                        218 Idaho State
                        226 Cal Poly-SLO

                        "I think we'll be OK"

obviously some differences in the two polls but not too far apart

except for the difference for Jackson St and UND

gotta say i feel like the Stats poll is better on Jackson than the coaches but i am not sure they are a deserving top 10 in either poll

i really cannot say which one i think is more accurate on UND. not saying it is impossible for them to beat the bison but i personally will be surprised if they do it at this time of the year. so predicting a loss, i guess that knocks them out of the coaches poll but probably not the Stats poll. it seems like they have a solid chance to be included in the playoffs

it seems hard to imagine montana misses the playoffs but if they lose to MSU do they really have anything that qualifies as a good win? for a conference that once appeared to have a shot for 5 or 6 playoff teams it seems conceivable they only get 3. i will still guess 4 with a shot at 5 depending how things fall

that said, seems like the MVFC has a much more reasonable shot to have 4 teams in than previously believed

interested in you all thoughts? who makes it from MVFC and BS conference? i think these two conferences DEFINITELY should have at least 8 of the 24 teams and probably multiple teams who do not make it could beat half the field that does get in

Yeah, no way MVFC gets 4 teams because YSU lost to MSU last weekend and will only get to 7 wins without a single quality win. No 6 win MVFC team makes it this year. SDSU, NDSU, and maybe UND.

BSC will have Sac State, Montana State, Weber State, and then some combination of Montana, Idaho, and UC Davis... all depending on this weekends outcomes. The two huge matchups to watch are Sac State vs. UC Davis and Montana vs. Montana State.

The CAA will have a bunch of teams too. William and Mary and Richmond play this weekend and the winner will be a seed but both teams will make the field regardless. New Hampshire, Elon, Delaware, and Rhode Island are all in the mix for spots too.
