Forget high profile recruits, are we going to have any left at all? of our 19 scholarship recruits JI only has 4 of them confirmed as coming back. Its pretty clear by looking at their Twitter profiles that there are a number of them on their way out. At this point I am just hoping to keep the local kids and anything else is gravy.

Not saying you're wrong but if no one was leaving here and Jimmy was still the coach and all 3 were staying here would you be saying they are in a bad situation? All 3 were on our roster looking for carries with more running backs coming in here as well and all we would be talking about is how excited we are with the running backs we have coming back and how we will be loaded at running back.

True, but at least they would be competing for a national championship. What is their goal now? I guess they can still make it to Frisco and play in the Scooters Coffee Frisco Bowl in front of 12,000 people. Or maybe their payday is much larger than I think it is.

By high profile I was really referencing the 2025 scholarship commits. Losing current Jacks effects the present while losing 2025 recruits will really damage the future. Really forces Dan into the portal and change our trajectory of developing young talent for a while.

I think that's the savage part about the whole coaching staff departing. There's no link left for any of these kids that have committed here and that leave Coach Jackson scrambling to put together some kind of a recruiting class. JI lists Damarius Russell 3* athlete from Waseca MN as out. He's following and liking the WSU activity. No doubt he'll end up there, too.

That was a hell of a recruiting class. I think Jimmy taking the top end talent from that class shows two things: 1: SDSU can be on par with G6 schools as a destination for talented kids with the big difference being that SDSU has and will have the regular opportunity to play in meaningful games; and 2. Jimmy has a real connection with players. I think he'll be successful in Pullman if the admin and fanbase there gives him the resources that are on par with their new conference peers.

Either Jimmy is an incredible recruiter and was bringing in tons of FBS talent to an FCS school or he is lazy and is taking FCS talent to an FBS school. I guess we will find out.

Once he gets a few more recruits to commit, the total from SDSU is going to be over 20. Crazy you are bringing 20% of your roster to a "P4" school from an FCS roster. I realize there is really good players and team in D2, but if we would have hired a D2 coach and he brought 20% of his players with I would be extremely skeptical.

Jacks just offered Cam Dome out of Iowa Western. He tagged Dalton Thomas (twitter), so that's basically official that he's on staff. Means all the people Dalton has been on has been on the Jacks behalf.

The same can be said for coaches like Isaiah Davis if there's anything to his SDSU player follows listed in the other thread. He's been going after punters and kickers including a sac state kicker who hits 70% of his fgs, 10% more than Dustman. Not sure he has had to experience Brookings conditions though,

If there are more people on staff that haven't revealed themselves on twitter, just know that they're actively recruiting, too.

Not sure how positive it will be, but Zimmer is the guest on the new Gaskin show today as well. I'm sure there will be plenty of jackrabbit discussion.

I definitely recommend listening to the Sell interview on The Nate Brown Show where he discusses how the hiring process has evolved, how Jackson has hit the ground running, and reasons for optimism.

Sam Herder is also a guest who will apparently be discussing Jacks' coaching and transfer situation, but I haven't gotten to that point of the show yet.

In the case of 2, they are going a long way from home for a "promise" of playing time which I don't believe can be kept. WSU has a pretty deep group of young running backs returning, include a big kid who will be red shirt sophomore who had almost 400 yards, 5.4 per carry, who looks to be the top returner. I get the defensive players, and even Angel since he likely is getting some money, but both Vorhees and Woods is really strange. One, or both need to be prepared to possibly spend a lot of time on the bench.

And to add insult to injury, they now have poached Pankey, the top RB recruit in the 2025 class.

I see him following Jimmy but no other WSU thing. His older brother Mike (temple page) (twitter) was is a former Temple football player and was a HS fb coach for 2 years. He has followed the following in order: Jonathan Shaeffer (meaning the older brother is being recruited too), SDSU Football, SDSU Jackrabbits, Mark, Zimmer, Kraft, Sitg, JI, Lujan, a diff sdsu fan twitter, and Rogers. Looks like the older brother is very interested in South Dakota State.

I was surprised to see Semchenko (a 2025) commit on JI's TBD list. Have you seen any activity re. his status. He's Heins' cousin and seemed excited about joining the team, although his dad is a Bison alum.
