This one is a puzzler. Local kid. How much eligibility? A year? Certainly loads of physical skills. Hasn't been the starter. I can't see an agent being a necessity. As Entz said at Fresno, if you're not playing, don't enter the portal. Angel has certainly been playing but has his portfolio screamed FBS/NIL pay day? He'd certainly find a role on a lesser FCS team. It's hard to picture a better scenario for him than right here right now it's we assume Vorhees and Woods are gone. Angel might be one of the guys struggling to find a roster if he's not careful.

A lot of the local players on there puzzle me. Saw a post that WSU has $ 3 million of NIL money. That needs to get spread out over the entire roster. And they need a QB - that's going to take 25% of that to get a good one. And a few other skill position players will get a bigger chunk. What does that leave for o-linemen and rotational defensive players ? Maybe $ 25,000 ? Nothing to sneeze at, but what will it cost to get their family members to Pullman to watch their games like they do in Brookings ? It's a 19 hour drive one way. Plane tickets are close to $ 1,000, with a minimum of two connecting flights which means a full day of travel to get there and a full day back. Do that for 6 home games. And a lot of the road games for SDSU were within driving distance. Maybe my math skills aren't that good, but it doesn't seem to pencil out quite so favorably as you might originally think.

Maybe Angel is entering the portal to leverage Jackson into some NIL money. Smart move on his part if he is.

Jeff Kolpack reported that a bunch of them have do not contact tags on. I would think that is encouraging to only have to battle Jimmy for them, and not the whole country.
