According to JI, we've made our first portal addition. 6'5, 295 OL John Pica from Dakota Wesleyan and Dell Rapids St. Mary's. 1st team All-GPAC and looks to have 2 years left to play. Would be interesting to know how they found out enough about him to offer this quickly since there wasn't anyone left from the old staff to know about anyone that local. Unless someone on the new staff has local connections.

He's not being followed by Cooper, Jackson, or Eids. I think he just followed Daniel Mojica and he had followed Jackson previously.
edit: I think I buried the lede on Pica. He was following most of the old staff, and there's nothing on his feed as to when he declared he was transferring to SDSU, so it's possible he was an addition from before Jackson got here and just wants to play here.

Dalton Thomas just followed a Vanderbilt portal player that Dan Jackson happens to follow and he's added a follow on the Idaho decommit from salem's post #634

Unless Thomas' recent stuff is coincidence, I think he could be on the safe. He's actively recruiting for someone at least.

Iowa portal player Jeff Bowie (twitter) (Iowa page) offer by SDSU. The people who followed him after Jackson were Thomas and Gage which may suggest they'll be back as mentioned in staff thread. Bowie is following 4 diff coaches/staff from each of the following schools: Marshall, USD, and UNI, so those offers may come too

Wasn’t a super highly touted recruit, but we have to offset some of our incoming class loses and get guys into our development program!

I assume that JI has pretty good intel. A notable change tonight, for what it is worth, is that Woods has been moved from the "Out/Unknown (destination)" list to the "TBD" list (where Tucker Large also resides). The "Out" list is for guys who JI believes are leaving, with lists for those going to Wazzu, guys going elsewhere and "unknown". The TBD list is a list of guys, some of whom are in the portal and some who are not, who apparently JI has not ruled out returning and in fact a number of "TBD" guys have recommitted. Call me an optimist.

NIU DB Dashaun Gibson (NIU page) (twitter) with 4 years eligibility followed by Eids from before and Jackson recently . So far he has offers from UTM, SIU, SEMO. Not going against giants

NIU Safety Ethan Tierney (NIU page) (twitter) 3 years eligibility. Already followed by Eids and followed recently by Jackson.

Mason might be doing some recruiting of his own having recently shared follows with Holy Cross RB Jordan Fuller (twitter) (HC page) with 1 year eligibility. Fuller has over 2k rushing yards in 4 seasons, including a 1k one two years ago. Fuller also is following the JFPA page
