    Class of 2015 Info.
QB - Taryn Christion**, Best QB in SDSU's history
RB - Sam Zenner, Quit f16. Runs track for SDSU.
FB - Luke Sellers, Will be a 2 year starter
WR - Adam Anderson, Will be a 2 year starter, 4 year contributer All-MVFC Honorable Mention
WR - Marquise Lewis, 2 year starter but injury retired.
    WR - Alex Wilde, 6'4" 205, Quit F18
TE - Sam Steckman, Quit F18
    OG - Jared DeVoe, Transferred
    OL - Matt Clark**, Suspended/Quit
    OL - Jake Ford, Transferred
DL - Ryan Earith, 4 year starter
DL - Blake Whitsell, Injury retirement
LB - Jake Harms, Injury retirement
LB - Christian Rozeboom, Will be a 4 year starter and All-American
LB - Austin Smenda, Will be a 3 year starter
LB/RB - Jessup Workman, Injury retirement
DB - Zy Mosley - Rotation player. Could start in 2019.
DB - Shakial Taylor, Quit following freshman season. Transfer to AZ CC then to Kansas where he was a 2 year starter
Safety - Brandon Thomas, Cut Sp18
Safety - Lorenzo Williams, in safety rotation, speical teams player
    K/P - Brady Hale, 4 year starter
K - Chase Vinatieri**, Will be a 4 year starter

    Preferred Walk-On (17)

FB - Michael Daniel***, Part-time starter, goal line specialist
FB - Turner Blasius, Special teams, backup FB
    FB - Nick Jensen, Quit
RB - Clark Wieneke, Cut Sp18
WR - Dayton Bird, Quit F16
WR - Gavin Rudoll, Never rostered
TE - Kallan Hart, Starter in 2018
OL - Spencer Hildahl, Starter in 2017, rotation player in 18 and likely 19.
    OL - Anthony Thene, Transfer
DE - Zach Dorgan, rotation player
    DE - Matt Fitzgerald, Quit
    LB - Gunnar Grimsrud, Quit
    LB - Zach Robertson, Quit
    LB - Rayce Willett, Quit
DB - Blake Bubak, Never rostered
DB - Lance Eide, Special teams player
DB - Will Whiton, Injury retired

So by my count this class has:
Stars: 6, TC, Adam Anderson, Ryan Earith, Cristian Rozeboom, Brady Hale, Chase Vinatieri
    Additional Starters: 6
    Contributors: 4
No long rostered: 23 (5 injury retirement, 2 cut, 10 quit, 4 transfer, 2 never attended)

The number of injuries in this class is staggering and this class had a huge walk on group which is why they are walk-ons. 11 of the 17 walk-ons are not here.

Interesting question so thanks for posing it.

Great work here. Probably would be helpful to make a distinction on if they started off as a scholarship player or not. I'm willing to bet a large majority of the "disappeared" category started out as PWOs.

Interesting discussion. I went back and pulled the list of the 2016 class, who will be redshirt juniors or seniors next season.

Athlete - Pete Menage, Injury Retirement
QB - Alec Cromer***, Cut and transferred to UNL as a punter in sp18.
QB - Kanin Nelson, Potential 2019 starting QB
RB - Tolu Ogunrinde, Switched to defensive end, rotation player/pass rush specialist
RB/LB CJ Roths, Cut in sp18.
WR - Jacob Brown***, In line to be a three year starter. Played as a true freshman
WR/DB - Patrick Burmeister, Cut, transferred to Minot St.
WR - Paddy Devlin, Cut, transferred to SMSU in sp18
WR - Cade Johnson, In line to be a 4 year starter and potential 4 year All-American
WR - Monte' McGary, Transfered to IWCC after 2 years
OC - Jack Domandle, Didn't attend until s17. Rotation player who has made a couple starts
OG - Wesley Genant, In line to be a 3 year starter.
OG - Hunter Hanley, quit following f16
OT - Mike Dobrenski, quit following f17
TE - Braydon Allen, transerred following f16. Playing basketball somewhere.
    DE/TE - Austin Barrett, Injury retired f18.
DE/LB - Clarence Smith, Never attended
DT - Thomas Stacker, Rotation player at DT.
DT - Elijah Wilson, Rotation player at DE.
LB - Logan Backhaus, In line to be a 4 year starter
LB/RB - Blair Mulholland**, Special teams player
LB - Kaden Roy, Transfer after F16.
LB - Preston Tetzlaff, Special teams dynamo
LB - Kyle Tuttle, Still on roster. Significant knee injury in f17.
DB - Jarek Berg, Special teams player will compete to start in F19.
DB - Donald Gardner, Special teams dynamo will compete to start in F19.
DB - Marshon Harris, Starter for 1.5 seasons.
DB - Joshua Manchigiah***, Starter at safety
Safety/RB - Justin Maratik, Quit, don't remember when
Long Snapper - Bradley Sorenson, In line to be a 4 year starter

So I divided this out in to four areas: 1. Stars, 2. Starters, 3. Contributors, 4. Disappear
Stars and Starters is subjective but this is my opinion.
This class has 3 Stars: Cade Johnson, Wes Genant, and Logan Backhaus
    5 additional starters
    9 Contributors
13 No longer rostered (2 injury retirements, 4 cut, 3 quit, 3 transferred, 1 never attended)

Next post will have the 2015 class.

Shocking news Zeb Nolan signed with NDSU yesterday. The Fargo Forum says he has already moved in and will enroll for spring ball.

Really like the solid foundation of the committed class today. In a good position to grab the few areas of need. Some great talent still out there looking for a home!

Great reporting, Westside. It looks like a very good class of recruits! Add a running back and another player or two, and it could be the best class ever, at least in print.

    WestSide any insight?

I think he is still part of the class but has some stuff to take care of first (don't worry, not legal baggage).
