The great amount of love being shown Youngstown State is kind of surprising to me. I realize they won their FBS game and we didn't. But we beat them by a touchdown last year at their place. It wasn't a fluke and was only that close because of a pick-six. All our skill position players are back except Moss,and our running game and defense are greatly improved. Our QB and best WR have not played up to their potential because of injuries which should no longer be the case when we meet in a month. Looking at the schedules,the Penguins have two tough consecutive road games in early Oct. at NDSU and ISU-Red. By the time they come to Brookings for Hobo Day,the Jacks could very well be higher ranked , and it should be a great game. -

Sagarin/USA Today ranking has SDSU at #112 overall for all D1. NDSU is the top-ranked (Sagarin) FCS team at 57. USD is 159.

The Sagarin rankings are not a poll but a computer-generated ranking that becomes, at least in theory, more accurate as the season unfolds. (See, for example, Iowa ranked 62 even after losing to Central Michigan which is ranked 119.)
The Massey rankings -- another ranking system, has SDSU #9 among 122 FCS teams. MVFC mates: NDSU, #1; Youngstown, #2; Illinois State, #3; UNI, #8; USD, #3; Indiana State #34; So Illinois, #37; WIU, #56; MoState, #63.

Fricking UNI is still in the Top 25.
Am I the only one that thinks of the movie "Three Amigoes" when I hear their head coach's name? Isn't Farley in one of the chants they have to say at the Singing Bush?Comment

I am confident Jeremy would not do that, he and TV are very objective as it pertains to voting and most everything else for that matter. It always worries me when a team moves up by NOT playing.......
