The icing on that particular cake would be that Indiana State has a DII win. And I agree, it could happen.

If Jacks and Sycs win out, Jacks would be the AQ for the MoValley, due to the head-to-head win. Ndsu would be in third place, a game behind SDSU and Ind ST. I'd be surprised if a 3rd place NDSU gets seeded higher than a team that beat them, although having the FBS W does help the Bison cause.

I win at uni would have prevented this discussion up to this point but proves how good the top of the confrence can be. On any given saturday anyone can beat anyone....except usd. Not smack a fact that they don't have a confrence win yet. I think we win at siu. After putting toghether the best half of football all year and let's face it we have played good and beat some good teams but we have been far from our best football. Assuming we can get their I don't see us winning ndsu altough its shaping up to be a great game. but getting 2 of 3 and finishing 8-3 not bad at all.

I think isu blue is where they are with repsect to bell. His name has been around a bit once zenner and sumners name is constantly mentioned as one of the best in fcs we will get the respect in the polls the next coupke years imo.

ISU blue, if they were to lose Bell pretty much have nothing left, our game was just terrible on our offensive side giving up all but 3 of the points, Bell only had 22 yds in the first half but their D had 14 of their 17 points, we were in a position to win that game until the offense threw a pick, any team that gives up 3 INT's and has 2 for scores will not win

He didn't do mich against uis either but he has a lot of yards this year and a big name player and they beat you guys which is a huge win regardless of how it happened. And just like how our loss at uni hurt us. Their win ove ndsu helped them with their ranking. Which is probably much higher then it really should be.

I know they beat us, point of it was they won't go far in the playoffs, no depth and to play at a high level thru the playoffs after a rough conference schedule you need depth. Yes we lost but I would bet money we win that game 8 out of 10 games

I wasn't arguing I was just saying that its a big win that helped them get a ranking higher then they probably are. Well good or not they are in a good position in the confrence how ever they got their. The next few weeks will determine if they are pretenders or not. I am still curious if we are contenders or pretenders. A stellar running game so far. Solid defense so far and a passing game that has struggled until the 8th game of the year with special teams that have struggled but haven't cost us a game yet. Hope we get to start running on all cylinders to finish the year.

A problem I would like to see if we both win next week amd we beat ndsu next and both have 2 losses would we jump a head of ndsu or would the polls still slight us and not get a higher ranking even with same record and the head to head win. Here is me hoping that is what we have to debate about next.

This is not the scenario I am referring to. Its obvious that our head-to-head victory gives us the tiebreaker for the auto-bid. I'm talking about the possibility that both teams lose 1 more game and finish in a tie not for the auto-bid. Very distinct possibility that exactly this will happen. Ind. St and SDSU 6-2 in conference with Ind St having 1 more overall win albeit a DII victory. The way the polls stand right now, Ind St would likely still be ranked ahead of SDSU. The playoff committee could easily screw it up and let 1 team in and not the other.

Especially since they beat #1 on the road. (and assuming the 1 more loss you speak of is that same #1).

(Regardless if we beat the team that beat the #1 at their house prior to that.)

In our few short years of eligibility, I have learned to never be surprised at who the selection committee ends up selecting, as it seems every year there is a WTH? selection or two.

Win your conference and take it out of their hands.

If this is really what it takes for SDSU to make the playoffs given our "non-history", with the caliber of teams in the Valley we'll be lucky to win the conference and make the playoffs 1 out of every 10 years.

I hope the selection committe could show more foresight than that.

Remember, next year the FCS playoffs expand to 24 teams, so that's 3 more fringe teams getting in every year, only three because the Pioneer League will be receiving an auto-bid, which it does not have now. Regardless, one would think that this would help the Valley get another team, or two, into the playoffs.

However, this year, it's quite simple, win out and you're in. Win @SIU and at home against USD and you are in. I really don't want to have the Jacks be 7-4 and depending on the selection committee. Let's make it easy for the committee and just get to 8 wins!

How about 9 wins, or is that just being greedy?

9 wins would be great, but I meant to get at least 8 wins to make it easy on the selection committee and for us fans. I would be pumped if the Jacks could get to 9 wins, but for right now I just want them to win this weekend in Carbondale!
