This is a huge reason a lot of FCS schools will make the jump to FBS when they know they shouldn't, even if it's into the Sun Belt, Conf. USA, WAC. The paygames are a lot bigger and there's always a chance of that 3 for 1 against a BCS conference team.

I thought I read somewhere that App State got something like 700K for going up to Michigan.....could be wrong though.

I guess my memory wasn't correct...it was $375,000. Here was the article I had read...

The early line on the game is Nebraska -42, FYI.

Too bad I don't get off until 4:30. I always listen to that on the drive home. Looks like I'll look it up on podcast.

Doesn't some of it have to to with the travel costs? A guarantee includes what it would take a team to travel to the game.

Yes, I believe some of it does. That said, it is typically significantly more expensive to fund a "guarantee" game against an FBS program.

                    Re: Nebraska vs SDSU

OK, after listening to the SVP show and hearing them saying that this will be a Jackrabbit that will end up under a Cornhusker wheel....kind of funny when I heard it actually...here's what I'm hoping for out of Saturday's game. I'd love to be "that guy" and predict a win, but I just can't, so...

SDSU keeps it close late, close as in three TD's at the end. Boise State and Nebraska end up undefeated and Ohio State and Alabama end with 1 loss each.
The Pollsters end up keeping the Big Red out of the championship game because of their weak OCC schedule(mainly because of the "close" game to SDSU) and let Boise State in against a one loss Alabama team.

It would be one of the most famous 21 point losses in the history of college football!!

One the other hand, I think JMU probably already did in any chance the Blue-Turf warriors might have had.

I'm looking forward to the trip, close loss(21 point or less), lose(under 40 points) or a$$-kicked(+40 points)!!

                    Go Jacks!!

Steve Imming coming up sometime this a.m. on the incredibly annoying Schick & Nick Show. Not exactly sure when, but sometime between 9 a.m. and noon.

I believe Nebraska will pay SDSU $350,000 PLUS travel expenses.

I believe the check will be for $375,000. The deal was brokered during SDSU's transition to DI and "the dark days" of Husker football.

It is my understanding one of the suites from the Yankton block of rooms (2 separate rooms can easily accomadate 4 adults) at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln has become available. Must rent it for Friday and Saturday night. If anyone is interested PM me and I will put you in touch with the key master.

                                I root for any 1AA against a 1A.

If the Coyotes can play like they did in Fargo in 08, they have a chance to keep it close. If you had last yrs defense it would make it pretty interesting.
