  • Re: Kansas in 2012

Assuming it is the thumb, I wonder if he banged it on a helmet during a pass or if he was run into by another player. I'm no orthopedist, but it's hard to imagine a QB recovering from such a dislocation on their throwing hand in 10 days. What luck.

The Jayhawk long snapper is suspended for three games due to a team-rules infraction. Looks like a DUI.

Carnes served as the Jayhawks’ snapper for PATs and field goals in 10 of their 12 games last season and was listed as the starter at snapper on KU’s depth chart entering fall camp.

Give me a break. What is the head coach supposed to say? "gosh golly , I really hope that our FBS conference t;eam can a hold our own versus a lower tier program. I sure hope we can win by a couple." We all know that these FBS-FCS games are just another practice for the upper teams. That's why its huge news when there is an upset. All Weis is saying is that he wants his team to come out ready to play so that they can relax towards the end of the game. I get really sick of people playing the "we are being disrespected" card. Maybe if this team, save for one year, has sustained success and people slight us then we can talk about using that rallying cry

Per TV Sumner remains questionable. Kline had a successful scrimmage 13-16 with a long TD pass to Kool. Ver mobile and composed he is ready to step in. Sumner will see the specialist Monday.

My take, if he truly dislocated his thumb and not just hyperextended/sprained it he won't be at 100% for 3-4 weeks. He may try to go but it will be tough.

Sumner should be fine to play, its 10 days. Don't forget Favre dislocated his thumb and stayed in the game then even played next week.

Does the Twins medical staff moonlight for the Jacks? day-to-day?

If hes not 100%, he shouldn't rush it. thumbs are a tricky thing, and can easily be re-injured.

Was this before, during or after he was addicted to pain killers?

Well NDSU did win 6-3 so it could be a potential disaster

Notice, and perhaps you did, that I didn't say he could not or would not play I said he would not be 100% healthy. How many FB players are 100% healthy all the time? Not many. Sumner is Sumner and Farve is Farve.

I did see it, but im not worried. I really think there shouldn't be any reason why he wouldn't. Just tape up his hand pop in some painkillers and he should be fine. Also, unless you are a waterboy, no player is completey 100% going into a game.

It was after, but in reality almost every nfl player takes too much painkillers just so they can play.

No offense Witness, but I might tend to think "doc" is slightly more qualified to render an opinion.

I have to agree. Doc is one of the best when it comes to medicine. USD trained to boot.
